LETTER TO THE READERS

Greetings! I created this work immersion portfolio so that you can get
application of the skills and experience you acquired in school as well as an
understanding of the challenges that come with working on an idea.
You should read this letter so that you can prepare and are informed of the
situation. in today's generation. All Senior High School students have access to
the working immersion program, which is designed to help them develop their
decision-making and professional skills.
The importance of working immersion should be prioritized by all seniors
in high school since it allows them to develop new abilities, engage with others,
meet new people, and deliver the high-quality services that all clients want.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I'd want to use this chance to express my gratitude to Sir Vic Morano Jr. for
providing us with this unique opportunity to work inside your organization. I'd
want to thank you for giving us your time and wisdom. You, sir, have taught us a
lot.

As I complete my work-based training, I would like to express my heartfelt

thanks for having me at VFM Electronic Service. I will never forget the useful
life skills I acquired here. My technical expertise that I have gained during my
immersion experience here will help me increase my influence with others.

I'd want to express my gratitude to my understanding classmates for always

being there for me and being approachable. I appreciate you being there for me
no matter what during my difficult times.

I want to express my gratitude to Mr. Sherwin Tanay for helping and

accompanying us on the first day of our immersion.

INTRODUCTION

In order to use their academic skills, all senior high school students are required to
take part in paid job experiences. Getting ready for any challenging project in the actual
world through work immersion is a useful strategy. Senior high school students need to be
completely prepared with theoretical and practical knowledge in order to compete both
locally and even worldwide.
Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior
High School student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates
to the student’s postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are
exposed to and become familiar with work-related environment related to their field of
specialization to enhance their competence. Specifically, the students are able to: (i)
gain relevant and practical industrial skill sunder the guidance of industry experts and
workers; (ii) appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories
taught in school; (iii) enhance their technical knowledge and skills; (i ns and human
relations; and (v) develop good work habits, attitudes , appreciation, and respect for v)
enrich their skills in communication work. These prepare them to meet the needs and
challenges of employment or higher education after graduation.
Academic institutions are faced with challenges particularly on the skills
they produced which do not match the needs of the industry. A significant number
of graduates today are unable to fill the job openings due to job-skill mismatch. A great
number of these skills found lacking by companies are taught in the academe that is,
technical, human resource and conceptual skills. In addition to that, these same skills
can also be reinforced through on-the-job training programs. On-the-job training (OJT)
programs are course requirements providing an opportunity to apply the
theories ,principles and ideas learned in the academe under supervision. These training
program sex pose the students to work realities which will ideally hone their skills and
prepare the once they get out of the university or college.
DURATION AND PLACE OF WORK IMMERSION

When you have spent 80 hours working at that company, you have
completed your work immersion. It is equivalent to being there for 10
days to help them with less work; in the event of an emergency, you
may provide a letter of justification that is legitimate and does not count
toward your working hours, but you will still be working.

The place for industrial training is at Penafrancia Avenue Naga

City in front of USI.
HISTORY

Our immersion location is on Francia Avenue in Naga City,

just in front of USI, and this store is known as VFM and is run
by Mr. Vic Morano Jr. It is a well-known repair facility for
damaged appliances like motors, electric fans, washing
machines, TVs, and many other electrical or electronic ones.
MISSION
The VFM store wants to provide top-notch customer service to everyone
who brings in their broken appliances for repair, which they almost certainly will.

VISSION
To offer good service at a fair price. Objectives To create and enhance
tools for maintaining and repairing motors. - To work together on
environmentally friendly projects in the field of automobile service with the
government and the commercial sector.
OBSERVATION AND INSIGHTS

During the work immersion, I saw that it is quite challenging to open

your own repair business when you don't have the necessary skills,
resources, or experience. Being a technician is difficult because, as
Sir Vic noted, many people falsely identify as such. Although they
may be able to repair faulty appliances, many so-called technicians
lack the necessary abilities. A lot of broken TVs are kept in our
workplace; some of them are no longer fixed, and others are not
being turned back on their own. I also noticed that, based on Sir
Vic's situation, you should have at least one assistant working in
the shop. If he is the only person there, a lot of time is lost,
especially given the volume of customers he serves. But even so, I
can still relate to his predicament since he feels more at ease there,
and I can see that despite the circumstances, Sir Vic can manage it
because he has the necessary abilities and expertise to do his work
on his own.
DIARY DURING MY WORK IMMERSION

May 8, 2023
On our first day, Sir Sherwin escorted us to the VFM
shop where Sir Vic introduced himself to us and we
did the same.
May 9, 2023
Sir Vic spoke with us about the guidelines for the
VFM store on the second day.
May 10, 2023
Sir Vic questioned us on the definitions of an IC,
capacitor, and resistor as well as their functions and
locations in household appliances.
May 11, 2023
Sir Vic taught us how to read the resistor and its
color coding. Then he discussed the types of
resistors, capacitor, and transistor.
May 12, 2023
What Sir Vic had us do was to solder and remove the
components of the board and put them together
according to what component they are.
May 15, 2023
Sir Vic taught us how to fix the radio
May 16, 2023
We cleaned Sir Vic's digital “kilohan” with a blower
May 17, 2023
Sir Vic's shop had a lot of cobwebs and dust, so we
cleaned it.
May 18, 2023
An electric fan that had broken down and belonged
to one of Sir Vic's clients was given to us to fix.
May 20, 2023
Sir Vic doesn't ask us to do anything, so we just
sit and use our phones.
May 21, 2023
On our last day, Sir Vic didn't do anything with us, so we just sat and used our
cellphones.

OVERALL REFLECTION

Work immersions are a terrific method for students to develop the skills, connections,
and information they'll need for their future employment. They may develop contacts, pick
up useful skills, and understand the business. Work immersion is a fantastic option for
students to seek because of all these advantages.
It is a course that enables students to get real-world experience in the subject of their
choice. Immersion in the workplace is a great approach for students to apply their classroom
learning and be ready for the real world. The idea is that you will have to work for a sizable
chunk of your life. Immersion is beneficial if it gives your job purpose, makes the time you
spend working more enjoyable and fulfilling, and raises your skill levels.
The day I started the immersion, I was taught a lot and learnt a lot, including how to
interact with strangers and talk to potential clients politely. I learn a lot about the subject I'm
taking every day when I go to school. For eleven days, it was used at my school. Despite
how challenging it is, I am grateful that I am always learning new things. Simply said, when
I accompany our instructor at work, he doesn't hesitate to share his knowledge with us; in
fact, he insists on doing so as a sign of respect. I've learned how to properly mend appliances
since they can't be further harmed and have to appear good when they are returned to the
consumer. I learned that you can't achieve anything if you don't put in the required effort.
You will encounter numerous difficulties, so prepare for them by learning how to handle
them. I discovered how to keep going even when things were difficult, just like when
repairing a TV, which calls for a lot of patience because the parts are so little and valuable
that they are difficult to remove and replace. I received a lot of instruction and learnt a lot on
the first day of the immersion. I gained knowledge on effective client communication and
how to get along with people that are unfamiliar to me. Sir Vic said that because it is our
investment in this circumstance and proposal, timing is of the utmost importance
WORK IMMERSION HIGHLIGHTS

In these images, you can see that I do the many chores that Sir
Vic assigns us, such as cleaning or mending equipment.
