Oscilloscope:
Oscilloscope is an electrical testing instrument which is used to give the
information regarding the input signals in waveforms. Mostly, an oscilloscope
has two dimension display one is X-axis (horizontal) and Y-axis (vertical). The
illustrate waveform tells the following properties: amplitude, frequency,
peaks, peak to peak values etc.

Function of Oscilloscope:
Oscilloscope is used to display the input and output signals in waveform. Like,
it displays the voltage input and output with respect to time in an electronic
device. The time operation is displayed on X-axis and voltage on y-axis.

The Oscilloscope

Parts of oscilloscope:
 Cathode-ray tube (CRT): CRT is a screen where we can see the waveform of
different signals. These waveforms are displayed on screen after striking
with the material used in tube.
 Scaling: Scaling is a process which allows its users to set a suitable scale to
analyze their signal’s output. For instance, we can change the voltage
divisions by using the nob named volts/div.
 Frequency and focus control: We can also control the intensity and
frequency of oscilloscope by using horizontal time variable “VAR” and
horizontal sec/dev (seconds per division). For focusing, we have targeted
crosshair to read the wave.
 Front panel: In front panel we have screen and different buttons on right
hand side. These buttons are used for practicing different concepts and
calculations on oscilloscope. At the bottom we have the probes of channels
on which hooks are present. These hooks are used to attach these probes
with circuit to get waves. From oscilloscope we can find frequencies,
voltages, peaks, peak to peak, rms values, etc.

Function generator:
Function generator is also an electrical device which is used to generate a wide
range of frequencies. It produces a wide range of frequencies in different
waveforms e.g. sine wave, square wave, triangular wave, saw tooth wave etc.

Function Generator

 Sine wave: A function generator is normally form sine wave and it is the
standard waveform in universal function generator. These sine waves are
mostly used for testing purpose and ideal Ac current is also shown through
sine wave.
 Square wave: It is widely used in testing purposes. Its signals are varying
between high and low levels. It provides the basic digital waveform.

 Triangular wave: Triangular wave also generate between high and low
levels. These types of waves are often used when operational amplifier is
working as integrator. These types of waves are very useful in many aspects
because it also has the property of square wave as well.

 Saw-tooth wave: This type of wave is somehow triangular wave but seems
like a saw tooth and have sharp edges. These types of wave are produced
by some circuits and these circuits are same as triangular wave have but in
saw-tooth it has different rise and fall.
DC Power supply:
It is also an electronic device which is used to provide direct current (DC) or DC
voltages. In DC power supply, the amount of voltage can be changed or variable
by the user. It also has different channels from which we can take voltages at
desire value.

Function: The function of Dc power supply is to supply the battery voltage to the
circuit either on breadboard or veroboard. It supply the desire voltage and turns
the circuit formation in reality.
