Two samples of reflective paper (Diamond - white) from "Unilex sign systems
Co." were received to the Paints, Plastics, and Rubber Unit at the National
Research Centre. These samples are used in the "Central Park Project in the
Administrative Capital". They were tested in accordance with the American
specification AASHTO No. (AASHTO M268) and the specifications of the
General Authority for Roads and Bridges, as mentioned in the letter dated
18/10/2021. Below are the results.
Firstly: General description of the sample (Diamond - white):
The received sample is a piece of plastic paper, square-shaped with dimensions
of (30×40 cm) and an approximate thickness of (0.48 mm) for both the sample
and its cover. It has a smooth, shiny white surface with alternating shiny column
shadows with a column width of (0.5 cm). Printed on it is a certain shape in
parallel rows resembling a 'honeycomb' pattern, and it has a code (DM 5600).
The paper's background color is white, and it's adhered to a thin transparent
plastic layer on the back, which can be easily removed. The sample can be easily
affixed without using solvents or heat to clean smooth surfaces (cold affixed).
• The sample has no information, markings, stamps, or signatures on it,
except for a signature with the name / George Edward, the application
location of the sample / Central Park in the Administrative Capital, and the
date (18/10/2021).
