• The best thing you can do to support your childs musical development is to allow them to take
individual lessons on an instrument or voice, and practice several times per week. There are many

• Attending live music concerts and listening to music as a family (actively listening/singing along/etc
rather than just passive background music) will develop listening skills.
• There are many apps/programmes for creating music – all students have Garageband on their ipads.
Time spent being creative for a leisure activity is encouraged.
• For those who play an instrument/voice to a high level, performing with others in
orchestra/band/choir will develop musicality, character and well-being.
