Instructor
I. OBJECTIVE
● Build a mesh, bus, ring, star, or hybrid network topology using Cisco Packet
Tracer and Huawei Ensp.
● Establish and test connectivity between devices.
● Send packets between devices.

II. INSTRUCTION AND DOCUMENTATION

INSTRUCTION:
To begin building a network topology using Cisco Packet Tracer or Huawei eNSP,
the first step is to launch the program and create a new project. Once the programs are
launched, choose the topology you want to create. Then drag and drop the necessary
devices for the chosen topology, such as routers, switches, servers, and/or PCs, onto
the workspace. To establish connectivity between the devices, use the appropriate
cables such as copper wires or serial cables, depending on the device type.
Next is to configure the IP addresses and subnet masks for each device to
enable connectivity. Once IP addresses and subnet masks have been configured, test
connectivity between devices by sending packets using the ping command or by using
the "Add a Simple PDU" function within the program.
Finally, to check whether packets were successfully transmitted and received.
This can be done by monitoring the output of the ping command or checking the
simulation results in the program. Overall, by following these steps, users can create
and test a functional network topology using either Cisco Packet Tracer or Huawei
eNSP.

III. HARDWARE/SOFTWARE USED

A. INTERFACES
● Cisco Packet Tracer
● Huawei eNSP

B. CONNECTORS
● The connectors used in building the hybrid network topology using Cisco Packet
Tracer are Copper Straight-Through and Copper Cross-Over.
● The connector used in building the mesh network topology using Huawei eNSP
is Copper.

NETWORK MEDIA
In building the hybrid network topology using Cisco Packet Tracer we used 4 hubs and
8 switches (2960 – 24TT) to connect all different types of topology (bus, ring, mesh,
star). In Huawei eNSP we used 4 switches to build a mesh topology.

DEVICES
In performing this activity, we used 5 laptops and 17 PC’s to build the hybrid network
topology in Cisco Packet Tracer and In Huawei eNSP we used 6 PC’s to build the mesh
topology.

V. ANALYSIS/OBSERVATION
The goal is to create a mesh and hybrid network topology utilizing Cisco Packet Tracer
and Huawei eNSP. Once the topologies are built, the objective is establishing
connectivity between all elements by sending packets between them as proof that they
are connected up properly.

VI. CONCLUSION
Accomplishing the desired outcomes of building mesh and hybrid network
topologies, setting up connectivity between devices, then testing it by sending packets
was accomplished through Cisco Packet Tracer and Huawei eNSP. Employing these
kinds of topology enabled all components to be linked together forming an immensely
interconnected network. On the other hand, unifying different designs in one structure
gives us more room for adjustability as well as scalability which can come quite in handy
if our system needs any alterations or extensions.

Achieving connectivity between devices was fulfilled by adjusting IP addresses

and subnet masks for each. Checking connectivity between devices was done by
sending packets on different devices.

In conclusion, creating and testing various network topologies with the aid of
Huawei eNSP and Cisco Packet Tracer gave us students valuable hands-on
experience. We were able to comprehend the ideas behind network topologies and the
significance of creating connectivity between devices by getting practical experience.
This knowledge will be very valuable in future network designing and troubleshooting.
