Basic Questions
1. Where is the load delivered to?
2. What is the weight of the load and the commodity or product
even if they have posted?
3. What is the delivery time?
4. What is the offloading time?
5. What is the deadhead’s b/w the loads if they are many?
6. What are the loaded miles or pickup zip code and dropped zip
code?
7. Ask the broker if the delivery time is appointment or if we can
deliver it before or after.
KEY PEOPLE IN DISPATCH
Broker: the one attends to the load for the customer.
Customer: the owner of load or cargo.
Carrier: is a trucking company which hands load from point A to
B.
Driver: the person driving the truck which hands the load.
Dispatch: book loads, follow-ups the updates, guides the driver.

TERMS
Deadhead: distance between the truck and load.
Detention: money that paid to the driver for detaining or holding
the driver to somewhere.
Layover: money that paid to the driver for being kept overnight.
Lumber fee: the money paid to the offload the trucker.

Note:
Every driver can drive for 11 hours total 650 miles for each
driver per day. (11 hours = 10hrs + 1hr for break).
Per hour can drive 65 miles per hour (65mls * 10hrs = 650mls).
Drop trailer: they can ask you if you can leave your trailer for
specific hours or days.
