1 Overview
Release notes for the E57xx Encoder. This document is aimed to give a brief
explanation of additional features and bug fixes that have been applied to the
E57xx Encoder Range. An overview of each feature or bug fix is described
along with the version where it was first introduced.

TD786 VBI : WSS carriage in PES is not frame accurate. PTS can be up
to 3 frames late relative to PCR. This issue is also present in all earlier
releases. This does not give a problem with the TT1260.
TD827 VBI : VITC. "Auto" mode can sometimes fail to detect VITC on
both even and odd fields (ie. one or the other is detected). Manual line
selection works OK. This issue is also present in earlier releases.
TD838 UI : ASI optical card is shown as always valid on the web browser.
This issue is also present in earlier releases.
TD885 UI: Encoder does not respond correctly to the Firefox web
browser. This issue is also present in earlier releases.
TD940 UI & TS : Real time clock (which provides Time-Of-Day) can drift
by a few minutes a day when unit is continuously power cycled (i.e. every
few minutes). Note, however, Bug#848 is fixed as detailed below.
TD973 MEM Control: When switching an encoder into HD mode (that has
been in SD since power-up), lipsync will remain inaccurate for up to
15seconds longer than the usual switching time. This is also an issue in
earlier releases.
TD1115 HD Video Web Interface: Changing the video format via the web
browser can cause the audio source to change from HD-SDI to SD-SDI.
This is an intermittent problem.
TD1126 Audio AC3: When "Audio alignment" is set to "Aligned", the audio
may be delayed up to 1 video frame with respect to the video.
TD1144 ASI optical output: this does not switch off when "OP Video Loss"
is set to "No ASI O/P" and video is lost.
TD1305 RS232 remote control: When the "Serial Menu Remote Control"
is set to ""RS232 Remote Control Port" (i.e. this port is configured for
menu control rather than RCP control), RCP commands should not be
sent to this port as the encoder may behave unpredictably.
TD1335 HD Audio: L-PCM (both direct and via SRC) "aligned" & Dolby E
"aligned" (i.e. SMPTE302m compliant): Maximum video bitrate is limited
in some 720p modes as shown in the table (1080i modes are not
affected). The UI allows a setting of up to 90MBit/s but if the bitrates
shown below are exceeded, there may be no alarms raised but lipsync
and complete audio dropout can occur. Note that "lipsync offset" of -1
means that the audio is delayed one frame less w.r.t. the video. Also note
that Dolby is already delayed one frame less to compensate for the Dolby
E encoder delay. See Ref Guide for more details.

TD1345 HD Remux: With encoders fitted with a remux card, the bitrate of
any individual video component should not exceed 50MBit/s. This
includes the host encoder video component and any video components
feeding the remux card. Each "data" component feeding the remux
should also not exceed 50MBit/s. If this rate is exceeded, glitches can
occur on all services at the encoder ASI output. This is an issue in 3.8.2,
3.9.0, 3.9.1 builds.
TD1399 IP Splitting: In VBR mode the reported bit rate is incorrect if the
TS contains a video component.
TD1436* RS232 data: Motorola format 'lock' indication stays set even
when data input has ceased.
TD1536 Encoder locks up, when Audio coding standard is set to LPCM,
video is set to HD SDI and an incorrect video line standard and audio IP
is applied.
TD1806 The Remux card has to be turned on before the option module
can be upgraded via the encoder.
TD1911 Video data corruption occurs when 3:2 pulldown and Closed
Captions are enabled with the encoder set to encode HD720p5994 video
standard.
TD1972 : Teletext sync turned off by navigating to tcf view of web GUI.
The original defect description is when the bitrate on the E4 goes to near
zero, it causes the E4 to crash. A fix was done to monitor this state and
reboot the E4 on the HDVCM in the motherboard code. This has come
back from the customer as an in sufficient fix and now the recovery
mechanism will be a unit reset.
TD1970 BISS E fails if the codes are entered in the web browsers.
EN5782 encoder with nCC in device profile, as a spare would alarm for
input loss for HD SDI input constantly.
Make remux include audio pid to service when 8 dvb streams are
included.
TD1962: When video bitrate is set to a value less than 60MB at standard
delay unable to set the lipsync adjustment of -1 on the webpage.
TD1949 Audio for Radio services not set to on when switching from main
to spare Encoder (OK after Re-apply of configuration).
TD1899 When Audio B is set to “NO PID” on loss of input, and the audio
input is removed a large numbers of PMT updates occur on the output
Transport Stream.
TD1900 When the video is set to 'NO PID' on loss of input, and the input
video is removed a duplicate video reference appears in the PMT.
Improved Error reporting from the E5 Multipass option module
so that false alarms are not raised.
When nCC selects WSS on line 23, ensure both current and next value
for seperate WSS control is set to avoid a glitch when setting
vidpreNextTimeDate while using WSS in "use afd" mode.
TD1861 - Addition of seconds onto a time code via the web interface now
works correctly and takes into account drop frames.
Make sure SCTE104 messages are not processed while the encoder is
intialising and revert the splice PTS calculation back to the original.
TD 1827 & 1828 - Fixes for two SCTE 35 packets created with one
splice_normal trigger and no RAI or other splice flags set when using
splice_immediate
TD1842: Fix to allow AFD and Bar Data on a VANC PID in SD.
TD1821: E5745: Even when the REMUX option module is disabled, the
remux options are active in the service info menu.
TD1586 Video User Data reserved fields are set to '0x00' instead of
'0xFF'
If the MPEG Version for an audio channel has been previously set to
MPEG1 the descriptor for the Dolby-E is signalled as 0x03 “MPEG1”
audio in the PMT and not as Dolby-E.
TD1693: GPI pins are labelled differently in scte35/scte35 multi pin
menu's
Modulator ASI Inputs should now be selectable when SATMOD3
hardware is installed.
TD1679: When the encoder is running in multi-pass mode, a 15Mb/s
stream identified as 'unknown' on PID 4095 is produced.
Added small buffer mode to allow mega low delay and low delay to be Lip
Synced to the Video for correctly operate for a limit set of configurations.
Note: The audio delay has been reduced which means the output stream
fails audio buffer compliance but does not does not glitch on the TT1260.
