A Daily Occuring Marvel

In a digitalized world, it’s not new for us to encounter the various elements of multimedia.
Especially the typically used element, image. Conveying the thought and idea through creative
and illustrative means, images properly communicate information to individuals. We commonly
stumble upon these through the social media apps we use, particularly Pinterest.

Besides the use of images, we definitely can’t say we don’t encounter videos in our daily
lives. As we watch lessons through videos and short reels in TikTok we see information in the
form of a video. This element of multimedia is the most compelling for me as it delivers the
information it wishes to convey effectively.

Like this essay I’ve written, it is a form of a multimedia element which is text. This
remains one of the most commonly used mediums to provide information through the
construction of words and sentences, altogether creating a paragraph. Although it does provide
necessary information, most people find this element boring as it is plain and less creative. We
encounter these mostly on work and school materials.

Audio, a fairly popular multimedia as well, mainly conveys one’s idea and feelings
through the use of our sense of hearing. The evident example of where we encounter this
element the most is on music platforms primarily, Spotify. With or without melody, audio can
communicate to us as it makes us feel as if we’re talking to someone because it stimulates our
hearing.

Lastly, animation. Although animation can be compared to videos, the two are quite
different, animations convey feelings and ideas strongly through a short span of time and it is
merely an illusion of motion drawn, while a video most definitely displays motion as it is
recorded. We encounter these on Youtube, TikTok, and on messaging platforms as GIFs are
present there.

Applying these elements in real life can be quite simple although its process is not a
joke, it takes a considerable amount of time to make a multimedia project precise and well-
done. Projects and pubmats will be the two options for me to make use of these multimedia
elements. By using these, popping up and distincting my work from others will no longer be
difficult.
