I would like to acknowledge and extent my heartfelt gratitude towards Nepal Academy of
Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) for providing me an opportunity to carry out
on this report.

As per the requirement of our curriculum, I have prepared a project report on the topic "Ka-
Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery". This has helped me a lot know the importance,
significance and its potential from the tourism point of view. While working on this project, I
derived inspiration and support from various eminent persons, who must be credited with
respective merit they deserve.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude with a deep appreciation to my college, Chief
Instructor Mr. Hiragyan Maharjan for his valuable advice, support, practical knowledge

ABSTRACT

On the topic “Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery “is the study about the importance of the
monasteries. It also shows about the architectural designs of the monasteries. It has been the
religious hub for the foreigners, local people and other great monks from different countries.
It is one of the great monasteries that in-house many monks and a Kathmandu University
based World Renowned Buddhist University called Rangjung Yeshe Institute.

This study is to find out the situation of the monastery and its cultural and religious
importance. To study about the artistic designs, structures and its activities is the main
objective of this project. Learning about the daily rituals and their activities is the ideology
for this case study. Various surveys and data have been collected through different sources.
This research also shows about the cultural and religious importance of Buddhist religion.
Every monastery, stupa and chaitya has its own importance.

This project work was prepared by taking an interview with the monk working in the
monastery’s office section. The other information was collected from the calendar provided
by the monk of the monastery and various websites through internet. Through the research, I
got to know about the activities of the monastery, an educational institute and its importance.
The monastery has preserved the Buddhist and Tibetan culture through different activities
attracting different local people, foreigners and great monks from other nation.
