Discipline
Tardies and Absences
Texas Law mandates 90% attendance to pass a class
Excused absences won’t count toward tardies
Tardies reset each term
To excuse a tardy, must have a valid written excuse note. Parents
may write these too, but if abused, this privilege will be revoked by
student.
Excused absences will warrant extra days to make up work, which will
be provided. Each day absent will be an additional day for make ups.
Students may not leave class without my approval; a parent cannot
just pick them up. For instance, we will use a bathroom pass system.
By tardy:
1. Quick verbal warning to the student.
2-3. Strike will be assigned with warning
Once strike tally hits 3, each additional tally is a letter to parents
Every third tardy warrants detention

Disruptive Behavior
I want to keep our classroom extremely laid back, but that said I
will have no tolerance for unacceptable behavior and acting out. Playfulness
and quick distractions are completely fine, but when behavior warrants
a warning - that will be my only warning. Considering the significance
of the disruption, students may be removed from the class immediately,
but generally it will follow this policy:
1. Verbal warning
2. Separation from students and removal of privileges
3. Note to parents/Parent conference with a detention, repeated for each
major violation
