1. Has your pronunciation improved? How?

Throughout the course, I have witnessed a noticeable improvement in my pronunciation. I

struggled with specific sounds such as the /w/ and /y/ sounds, which were challenging for me

to articulate correctly. However, with consistent practice and guidance from the course

materials, I have developed better control over these sounds. I can now pronounce them more

accurately, which has enhanced the clarity and intelligibility of my speech.

2-What techniques helped you improve?

My favorite techniques were the ‘Practice for Mastery’. I enjoyed doing those exercises and

learned the correct position of the mouth, tongue, lips and the correct mechanism of the

whole vocal tract. An important skill I improved through that technique was the listening

skill.

3- Did the Forums, interactions help you? How?

The forums and interactions helped a lot, they gave me the possibility to auto reflect on the

things I was doing wrong and fix mistakes. Also, in the forums about the recordings, as I

mentioned before, I enjoyed them a lot and at the same time I was haing fun I learned the

correct pronunciation of some words i was having trouble with.

There were some things I learned in this class that I can transfer to any other class I take

were: Practice Regularly: Set aside time for regular practice outside of class. I learned that

thanks to the virtual modality.

Record and Compare: Record yourself speaking and compare it to native speakers or model

pronunciations to identify areas for improvement. In the practice for mastery exercises this

was taken into consideration.

Mimic Native Speakers: Listen to native speakers and mimic their pronunciation to develop a

more natural and accurate accent.

Seek Clarification: Ask questions and seek clarification from instructors to ensure a clear

understanding of phonetic concepts.

Use Multimedia Resources: Utilize multimedia resources, such as online pronunciation

guides or apps, for additional practice and reinforcement.

The forums and interactions provided invaluable support and learning opportunities

throughout the course. Engaging with fellow coursemates allowed me to gain insights into

their pronunciation struggles and successes. Sharing my own experiences and receiving

feedback from others created a sense of community and motivation to persist in my

pronunciation journey.

Forums provided a platform to seek clarification, ask questions, and receive guidance from

instructors and peers. I found them particularly helpful when encountering challenging

sounds or phonetic concepts. Discussions and explanations provided different perspectives

and alternative strategies to approach difficult pronunciations. The interactive nature of

forums fostered a collaborative learning environment where I felt comfortable seeking help

and sharing my progress.
