About this Material

This Self-Learning Kit was collaboratively designed and developed for the
Special Program in Journalism learners. The authors anchored the development of
the SLK from the standards and the Most Essential Learning Competencies
(MELCs) set by the K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum.

This learning material intends to develop the learner’s skills in writing

journalistic texts through guided learning activities while allowing them to work at
their own pace and time. The activities designed enable to think freely, explore
ideas actively, and read other learning resources independently to advance their
skills in journalistic writing.
