1. Purpose and Scope

1.1. This document serves as a Method Statement for the application of Newkem Isolatek Type
400, a spray applied fire resistive coating on structural members, to provide a fire rating of
2hours based on UL263 Restrained Design at Lnt Realty Seawods under Lnt Realty prepared
by NEWKEM PRODUCTS CORPORATION.

1.2. This Method Statement covers the general requirement and application/installation
techniques of NEWKEM-ISOLATEK Type 400 on Structural Steel Frame construction. It covers
requirements in regard to, Fire Rating Standards, Product Storage, Substrate Preparation,
Mixing, Application, Quality Control, Finish and Repair of the fire protection Systems.

3. Apparatus/Chemicals

3.1. Cups 900mm Dia

3.2. PU Foam

4. Quality Control and Field Inspection Test

4.1. Density from Mixer Discharge 689 to 785 kg/cum. Material is collected from the Mixer in one
ltr Jar & material is weighed to calculate the density.

4.2. Type 400 Coating Final Thickness Refer Approved Thickness Sheet.

4.3. The thickness of coating shall be measured and recorded during the progress of work and
shall conform to required thickness. The detailed procedures are present in the Type 400
QA/QC Manual.

4.4. Pull test - After 28 days the pull-out test is done to check the bond strength. Circular Cup is
fixed on fire proofed area using PU foam as adhesive, weights will be loaded to check the
bond strength. The minimum bond strength to be achieved as per standard document
attached for C400. The calculation method is attached in annexure.
