COURSE SYLLABUS
Course Description:
This course provides an overview of logistics and how it fits into an organization. It deals with managing specific logistics activities
such as customer service, inventory management, transportation, warehousing, materials handling and packaging , information system
and inbound logistics. The concept of 5S is also included for an efficient and effective implementation of strategies. It includes the
global business environment, strategy formulation, quality, performance improvement and organizational issues impacting logistics
Program Objectives:
To equip students with the concepts, principles, theories, and applications of logistics management in business
To prepare the students in organizing and managing activities in manufacturing and service related businesses
To develop students’ awareness and responsiveness to emerging trends and issues affecting business operation and logistics;
To help students seek employment and entry level jobs or positions of responsibility as operations manager or director,
production managers, and logistics manager;
To guide the students in organizing and managing entrepreneurial activities if they decide to engage in entrepreneurial path;
To prepare students to pursue a teaching career or graduate studies in business;
To inculcate in students social, moral and ethical values in the conduct of one’s business or practice of profession;
To develop business professionals who are competent and globally competitive with wholesome values and attitudes.
