Moduri de citire a lui zero:

- Nil sau nothing - în scorul meciurilor de fotbal

1-0 one to nothing

6-0 six nil

- zero - în texte științifice , când citim temperature

Three degrees Celsius below zero = minus 3

- oh – in citirea numerelor de telefon, nr caselor etc

211708 – Two double one seven oh eight

- love =o in scorul din tenis

- 15-0 – fifteen love

Hundred, thousand, million, billion – nu primesc ”s” dupa un nr definit

- Three thousand
- Four hundred
- Eight thousand

Dar primesc ”s” fiind folosite la pl:

- Cand sunt urmate de prep ”of”: thousands of people, two millions of tickets, hundreds of
fans;
 - Cand sunt fol. ca substantive:

This work of art is worth millions.

She is a girl of millions.

The first, the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, ..., the twentieth

24th March = the twenty-fourth of March

Nr. colective
- Couple, pair – gr de 2

A pair of shoes, a couple of days.

- Dozen = 12 two dozen eggs

- Score = 20 a score of persons
- A fortnight = 14 zile

Nr. multiplicativ
- Se form cu nr card si cuv times primele 2 nr au forme distinctive

Once, twice, three times, four times etc.

În stilurile official, literar și ethnic cuv times este înlocuit de sufixul –fold.

Twofold, threefold sixteen fold, one hundredfold.
