essay writing
1) My favourite hobby is playing drums. I spend a lot of my free time
playing drums. I started learning to play drums when I was 4 years
old. I played in my school’s band. When I was 5, I got a private drum
teacher and started to really enjoy playing.
My parents bought me a drum set and I started practising
everyday after school. It was very loud, but my mother never
complained. I improved a lot and playing drums has been my
favourite hobby ever since.
Now, I play drums in a band with my friend Dan, who plays
guitar. We write songs, perform and practice twice a week. It’s still
as fun as it was when I first started playing!
2) Last month, we went to the historical place called Amaravati.
It is situated on the bank of river Krishna in Guntur District, Andhra
Pradesh. It is the place of Amareswara temple. The temple is of Lord
Shiva. We first went to the temple and worshipped the God. History
says that this temple was built during Satavahana period.
After lunch, we visited the Archaeological Museum where we
had seen the relics of Buddhism and statues of Buddha. We played
for sometime in the museum park.
In the evening, we went to river Krishna and sailed on the
boat. It was an amazing feeling sailing on water. We returned to our
homes at night.

3) I have two best friends. They are Pavan and Pallavi. Both are my
classmates. Both study well. Pavan is a good cricket player. Pallavi
is a good dancer. On every friendship day, we all tie friendship bands
to each other.
At school, during lunch, we three eat together. In the evening,
we play together. We come and go to the school also together.
On Sundays, we three meet in the playground and play.
We almost never quarrel. If anything goes wrong, we immediately
realize the mistake and soon became friends. That’s why, we say
ourselves as best friends. All other students call us “Trimurthees”.
4) My home city is Bengaluru. It is one of the most beautiful cities of
the world. Here we come across people of different religions and
languages. They all live in harmony. The climate is always cool like
the inhabitants of the city. It is known as the Garden City of India.
The Cubbon Park and the Lal Bagh are the places most frequently
visited by the tourists. The magnificent buildings of British days even
today add beauty to the city.
Everyone speaks more than two languages. An outsider will not
feel that he is in a different country because people are so helpful
and friendly. There are plenty of amusing parks. If you drive twenty
kilometres from the city, you will be at Bannerghatta forest area.
I love my city.
5) Good manners are the ornaments of a gentleman and a real
gentleman never hurts the feelings of others. He cares for the
convenience, comfort and happiness of others more than for his
own. He never tries to be disrespectful to anyone. His behaviour
towards others is what he expects from them for himself.
We should be kind and soft in tone while talking to others. In no
case, we should lose our temper because anger is a momentary
madness. We should be polite even while refusing the unfair requests
of others. Talk less and listen more is always praiseworthy as it saves
us from many problems. This quality adds extra to the life.
We can learn good manners by studying the lives of great
men and can mould our character. Our success depends on good
manners to a great extent. Let’s be men of good manners to achieve
the very essence of humanity.

4) Birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru.
IV.1) We celebrated Teachers’ Day in our school with a lot of excitement
and respect. We felicitated our class teachers, and gifted flowers,
fruits and cards to them as a symbol of love and respect. Some
students came to our classrooms in the guise of teachers to entertain
us. Our teachers also played some games such as musical chairs,
skipping etc. This day would remain as the most memorable day in
my life.
2) We celebrated Children’s Day in our school with a lot of amusement
and joy. Teachers had given biscuits, chocolates, cakes and cool
drinks for all of us. Many sports’ events were conducted till 5 o’clock
in the evening. A meeting was held in the evening. To this meeting,
parents also attended. The Principal had given then prizes to the best
performers of the day. Really, it was a joyful day.

V. Our family is a big family. All our family members do various
professions to earn livelihood. My grandfather, who is our ward
counsellor, told me that he wanted to become a police officer,
but he became a teacher. He also told that he wanted to marry a
doctor, instead he married a nurse. Then, he asked me what I want
to become. I said that I want to become an architect. Meanwhile,
I asked him to take me to the barber shop to get my hair cut. On the
way, we met a librarian, who was once my grandpa’s colleague.
There was a fire station also on the way where a firefighter was
filling water in the fire engine. After walking a little, a function was
going on. A chef was cooking delicious food items. Their smell made
our mouths watering. Finally, my grandpa took me to a shop surprise
....... it was a dentist clinic.
