Most medical terminology can be divided into one or more word parts. There are four
separate word parts in total, and any provided medical term could have one, several, or all of
these parts. These world pieces are divided into four categories, including; roots, suffixes,
combining or linking words, and prefixes (Volodymyrivna, 2021. Word root is normally the
middle part of the word. The prefix usually comes at the beginning of the word. The suffix
comes at the end of the word. The combining word is a root with a combining vowel added at
the end.

The best method I find effective when studying medical terminology is the use of
flashcards. This method is helpful as it helps me to learn medical terms and crucial concepts.
The use of flashcards to learn the terms can assist train the brain for effective understanding
because the human brain is structured to absorb information through visual cues. For
accelerated learning and retaining medical terms, one can purchase medical phrases or
flashcards or just use online flashcard tools. Using a flashcard, one can mix and match the
