Dear Parents:

1. The Ganesh Festival will be celebrated from Thursday, 13.09.2018 to Wednesday, 19.09.2018. The
Cultural Programme will be held during the school hours.

2. a) For the preparation of the Ganesh Festival the school timings are changed from Monday,
10.09.2018 to Wednesday, 12.09.2018. The School Timings will be from 8:40 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. for Stds.I-IX and Std.X will be from 8:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Lunch Break for the above days will be from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

b) The participants for Group activities need to wait back according to the following schedule:
10.09.2018 - 12.09.2018 Timings 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
15.09.2018 (Saturday) Timings 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Please make arrangement for additional snacks for the same.

3. Students of Stds. VIII to X are required to attend the Installation Ceremony of Lord Ganesha’s Idol
on Thursday, 13.09.2018 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be over by 11:15 a.m. The Installation
Ceremony is not compulsory for the students of Stds.I to VII. However, those who are interested
can attend the same.

4. Wednesday, 19th September 2018 will be a holiday for students of Stds.I-VIII on account of
Inter-School Competition. Students of Stds. IX and X are required to attend the Inter-School
Competition followed by Immersion of Lord Ganesha on Wednesday, 19.09.2018 from 9:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m.

5. Thursday, 20th September 2018 will be a holiday on account of Muharram. Regular School will
resume from Friday, 21.09.2018 (8:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

6. There will be no Band Practice, Evening Games, Yoga, Gymnastics and Skating from Monday,
10.09.2018. The same will resume from Monday, 24.09.2018.

Dear Parents:

This is to inform you about the various events for the forthcoming Ganesh Festival. Students
are requested to follow the guidelines given below:

LIST OF ACTIVITIES DURING GANESH FESTIVAL

1. SOLO SINGING /DUET SINGING JUNIOR – English (STDS. VI and VII):


For solo singing and Duet Singing Karaoke can be used. Time duration for each song should
not exceed 3 minutes. Elimination Round on Monday, 03.09.2018.

2. SOLO SINGING /DUET SINGING JUNIOR – Hindi (STDS. VI and VII):


For solo singing and Duet Singing Karaoke can be used. Time duration for each song should
not exceed 3 minutes. Elimination Round on Monday, 03.09.2018.

3. SOLO SINGING /DUET SINGING SENIOR – English (STDS. VIII and IX):
For solo singing and Duet Singing Karaoke can be used. Time duration for each song should
not exceed 3 minutes. Elimination Round on Monday, 03.09.2018.

4. SOLO SINGING /DUET SINGING SENIOR – English (STDS. VIII and IX):
For solo singing and Duet Singing Karaoke can be used. Time duration for each song should
not exceed 3 minutes. Elimination Round on Monday, 03.09.2018.

5. SOLO SINGING – English & Hindi (STD.X):


For solo singing and Duet Singing Karaoke can be used. Time duration for each song should
not exceed 3 minutes. Elimination Round on Monday, 10.09.2018.

6. SOLO DANCE (STDS.V to IX)


Stds.V to VII: Group I Stds. VIII-IX: Group II
Time duration should not exceed 3 minutes. (including Entry & Exit)
Elimination Round on Tuesday, 04.09.2018.

7. DUET DANCE (STDS.V to IX):


Stds.V to VII: Group I Stds. VIII-IX: Group II
Time duration should not exceed 3 minutes. (including Entry & Exit)
Elimination Round on Tuesday, 04.09.2018.

8. PLAYING A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT (STDS.V to IX):


The Competition will be held on Monday, 17.09.2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Tabla, Guitar, Key Board, Flute, Harmonium, Violin, Drums, Saxophone (Drums and Saxophone
will be provided by School). Children are to get their own instruments.
Elimination Round on Thursday, 06.09.2018.

9. PLAYING A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT (STD.X):


The Competition will be held on Monday, 17.09.2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Tabla, Guitar, Key Board, Flute, Harmonium, Violin, Drums, Saxophone (Drums and Saxophone
will be provided by School). Children are to get their own instruments.
Elimination Round on Monday, 10.09.2018.

10.FESTOONS (TORAN) MAKING (STDS.V&VI):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Can use any material. Ready materials to be brought from home. Arranging and assembling
to be done in School. Time Duration 1 ½ hrs. size: 1 mtr or 100 cms

11.GANAPATI PAINTING (STDS.VII&VIII):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Paper Mache Idols will be provided by the School. Acrylic / Fevicryl colours to be used. 3D
liner and glitter powder can be used. No pasting of any other materials.
Time Duration 1 ½ hrs.

12.ART OUT OF WASTE (STD.IX):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Thermocol and Plastic cannot be used. If required, colouring can be done for presentation.
Time Duration 2 hrs.

13.MAKING OF POP UP CARDS (STDS.V and VI):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Different kind of papers can be used. Card Size 15cm x 20 cm [folded ready card]
Time Duration 1 ½ hrs.

14.MASK MAKING (Std.VII):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The outline of the Mask should be drawn and brought from home. It must be cut and
decorated in the School.
Time Duration: 1 ½ hours

15.MEHENDI (STDS. VIII&IX):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Mehendi cones to be brought from home along with rough cloth and pin. Apply only on
the palm of your own hand,
Time Duration: 1 hour

16.TATTOO (STDS. VIII&IX):


The competition will be held on Friday, 14.09.2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Only Fevicryl or Acrylic colours, 3D liner, Glitter powder or pen can be used. Stencils and block
printing not allowed. Tattoo to be done on your own hand. Rough cloth, water bowl,
brush, colours etc to be brought from home. Use your own creativity. Copied references are
not allowed.
Time Duration: 1 hour

17.COOKERY WITHOUT FIRE (STDS.V-X):


The Competition will be held on Saturday, 15.09.2018. (9:30–12:00 noon)
Stds.V-VI: Make a Showpiece using chocolates, toffees, lozenges and Marshmallows
Stds. VII-VIII: Anything and everything with Rice.
Stds.IX-X: Bhel Puri or Chaat with anything and everything.
Ingredients and raw materials to be brought by the contestants. Disposable base / Tray should
be brought from home. Only paper and unbreakable accessories should be used for
presentation.
Time Duration 1 ½ hours.

18.NEWSPAPER COLLAGE (STD.X):


The Competition will be held on Saturday, 15.09.2018 from 12:30–2:30 p.m.
Theme: Ban on Plastic
Group activity: Team of 6 students belonging to the same house will prepare a collage based
on the given Theme. Newspaper and Magazine cuttings, printouts, Fevicol and Chart paper to
be brought by the Team. No restrictions on the size of the collage. Sketch is allowed only for
the bordering. No paints to be used.
Duration 1 ½ hours

19.RANGOLI (STDS. VIII & IX):


The Competition will be held on Monday, 17.09.2018 from 10:00 – 12:00 noon.
Only Rangoli Powder to be used. Rangoli colours to be brought from home.
Only Diya can be used as an accessory for Presentation. Sieve can be used.
Chalk and Stencils are NOT allowed. Area provided to each contestant 1m X 1m.
Time Duration 1 ½ hours.
