4. Value checking the solutions for verifications.

B. Discussion of Quadratic equation whose value of c =0 can be solved by factoring the common monomial
Concepts (Explore) factor. This method goes by is factoring out the greatest common monomial factor between the
terms in every quadratic equation to solve it : e.g..
10x2 + 5x = 0
In the quadratic equation above, c = 0. So, the quadratic and linear term sure has common factor
aside from 1 and it is 5x.
= 5x (x + 1) = 0
By applying the zero product property,
We can have.
5x = 0 x +1 = 0
X=0 x = -1
Check the solutions above
Solving Quadratic equations by factoring perfect square trinomial also applies zero product
property. Same with the previous lesson, the steps are to write in standard form, then factor, then
apply zero product property, and then solve.
