How to start to work:


- After the secondary school, students take a school leaving exam. (Maths, Hungarian
Litareture and Grammar, History,special subjects: Foreign Languages, Science
Subjects)
- You can enter to the university. or You can go to work.
- If you have a university degree/diplom, you can apply for lot of jobs and get a well-
paid job.
Applying for a job/ find a job advertisment:
1. You have write a very good CV and covering letter/motivation letter.
2. You can registrate job searching services, search on the Internet and ask around
the friends/family members.
3. You have to send email and attech your CV and covering letter.
4. We have to wait for the answer or the phone call.
5. The employer looks for you and phones you. This is the first interview. They have
some questions to get information about. If the phones was successfull, the
employer wants a personal interview as well. You arrange the time for the next
interview.
6. You prepare for the interview, think over your answers, get information about
the company, dress up nicely.
7. You go to the interview. You have to talk to your future boss. (studies,
experiences, future plans, personal skills…etc)
8. You have to wait for the phone call.
9. If they want to employ you, you have to sign the contract.
Manual jobs (physical work)

Advantages Disadvantages

university (long time, very hard
work)
- you don’t need to speak a - it is physically very tiring and
foreign language (save money) hard
- no strees, less responsibility - you have to work outside in bad
weather conditions
- you can leave your family earlier, - you will reduce your skill with

- you can have an own family - You have to work in shifts, at the
weekends or at night.
- you can start an own business - Running an own business needs
some money
Professional work

- learn new skills continuously, - invest money, take a lot time and
improve yourself money
- it is well-paid job - learn foreign languages
- you don’t have to work at night - more responsibility
- physically not tiring - stressfull
- you can gain a career - work overtime at home
- you can meet a lot of people and - you miss your family
travel abroad
- higher quality life - you can burn out easily

I work as a ………… at a multinational company. I studied at University of Debrecen. I have a


biochemical master degree. I really like my job because I work in a good team where I get a
lot of support. I work a laboratory from moning till afternoon. I always start my day with a
team meeting. Then I always check my emails on my computer. I have to make diagrams and
a report. I deal with antibodies in my job. I don’t really like my job because it is sometimes
stressfull and tiring. I have learn a lot more in the future but I am very enthusiastic to get
more experiences.
