A Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) was signed, 12 December
2022, outlining the collaboration
between the NeuroMuscular Taping
Institute and the Nusantara Medika
Tekno Indonesia Foundation. This
new foundation will govern NMT
Institute training, research,
programming, educational
development and university
collaborations in Indonesia.
NMT EDUCATION WITH INTERNATIONAL
STANDARDS
JANUARY 2023
All NMT training programs follow
the necessary "Continuing
Education in Medicine" guidelines
for professionals and are held in
collaboration with tertiary and
university educational structures,
professional associations and the
Health Ministry. Nusantara Medika
Tekno Indonesia Foundation will
reach out to other countries in the
Asean region offering
comprehensive training, clinical
support services, therapeutic
protocols, research and volunteer
training projects.
NMT THERAPEUTIC SOLUTIONS
UMS Surakarta
1 day event at the UMS, Solo University
for Diabetes mellitus community
awareness. The conference brought
public health, nutrition, nursing and
physical therapy departments together
outlining the DM problem and the need
for evaluation. Neuromuscular taping as
a treatment tool was offered to assist in
improving mobility in patients together
with lymphatic, vascular and neuropathy
applications.
The community was able to have
nutritional advice and evaluation by a
team headed by dr Setyaningrum.
Consultations, evaluations and NMT
applications where headed by the
physical therapy staff and David Blow on
the treatment of neuropathy and DM
ulcers.

Universitas Pembangunan Nasional
Veteran Jakarta. The collaboration
will cover training of students and
alumni, research, programming,
educational

development and continuing
education in physical therapy.
The MOU is following a 5 year
collaboration with the university
after the first NMT Indonesian
Conference in January 2016.

 Volunteer NeuroPediatric
treatment at the Klinik
Inggit, Makassar

The Neurology department of

Hasanuddin University in
collaboration with Perdossi
Makassar, Dr. Jumraini Tamasse of
the Inggit Medical Centre and the
NMT Institute recently organised a
day for pediatric patients. Cerebral
palsy, autism and neurological
consequences of meningitis were
seen in a clinical setting.
Neurologists and interns from the
University were involved in patient
evaluations together with
discussion of treatment
objectives. Combinations
of NeuroMuscular Taping
applications were
elaborated giving both
the medical staff and
family present, the
possible improvements
in spasticity and motor
function that could be
achieved. Treatment
programs follow the
symptoms and are
integrated in therapeutic programs.

 Final Training in Makassar
Final training and certification for the Neurology
department of Hasanuddin University, Makassar hybrid
NMT course was completed on 17 december 2022. This
enthusiastic group from all over Indonesia passed final
examination and skill test.
Volunteer training in NMT pediatric treatment was an
integral part of this course where participating
neurologists were able to put into practise the skills learnt
during the course.
Advanced medical neurology training will be offered in
Makassar in 2023. Please contact the course organisers for
details.
Future clinical multi-center research trials will be offered
to those trained. Collaboration and documentation
indicating possible treatment alternatives and synergy for
the future.
