Task: The purpose of this mapping exercise is threefold:

pressing Social, Economic, Environmental and Political issues;
- to understand the spatial significance of world issues;
- and to review and refine your digital mapping skills.

Part A: Making Your Map

1. Using Google MyMaps (you need a Gmail account), you will create a map with a
detailed legend, using a different layer and colour of pin for each type of issue
(SEEP). This means you will have 4 layers and 4 colours of pins.
2. Before you get started, be sure to click on the share icon and select “share this map
with anyone” so when you submit the link, I can access it!
3. Through researching, you will find several countries for each type of issue. (TIP:
use Google News, other news outlets for headlines, search various countries in the
news, etc …)
a. Level 3: Find 5-7 countries per issue
b. Level 4: Find 8-10 countries per issue
4. For example:
a. Social - Ex: Tyre Nichols murder from police brutality (United States)
b. Economic - Ex: Hyper-Inflation (Venezuela)
c. Environment - Ex: Amazon deforestation (Brazil)
d. Political - Ex: War in Ukraine
5. For each country, you will add a pin and using the pencil symbol, indicate what the
current issue is in a brief sentence or two.

doing a google image search.
7. You must have each of the continents represented, and you cannot repeat a
country.
