Construction Waste
Why do we need to study this?
From: Science Direct
Other numbers:
• Annual construction waste is expected to reach 2.2 billion tons globally by 2025.
(Transparency Market Research)
• More than 75% of all construction waste from wood, drywall, asphalt shingles, bricks and
clay tiles ends up in landfills. (EPA)
• Concrete has one of the longest useful lives among building materials, but concrete structures
account for the most demolition projects by far. (Tampere University of Technology)
