• to improve students confidence and pronounciation
• to introduce simple present tense and contractions

Timetable (class= 50 mins)

• 15 mins warmer/vocab
• 15 mins practise
• 10 mins production
• 10 mins cooler

Warmer
Have flashcards stuck to the board in random order so students can see the pictures. Introduce each new
vocab word as you stick it to the board.
Illicit that students are to memorise where each particular flash card is on the board.
Turn the flashcards over so students can only see the back of them. Split the class into two teams.
Have a person from team one come to the board. I say a vocab word and the student has one
opportunity to turn over where they think the flash card is. If the student is right they get a point and the
card stays turned over. If wrong then no point. Repeat with a player from team two. This happens until
all the cards are turned over. The team with the most points wins. The rest of the class can help their
team mate by shouting out which card to turn over.
