4) What steps would you take if you were to base a self-esteem enrichment
program in schools on the sociometer model of self-worth?

In a school environment, it is not difficult to see many small groups working

together to come up with many ideas aimed at providing directions to achieve
common benefits effectively, but not all groups can operate in the same way.
Smoothly after unification, the Storming phase will exist, unintentionally
affecting the possibility of conflicting self-esteem of some group members.

When group members begin to work toward establishing a common direction,

the storming phase occurs. This stage causes sensitivity and conflict, leading to
conflicts when group members begin to express perspectives, ideas, and
opinions, causing disagreements or agreements with opinions from individual
to individual. Sometimes there will also be some members who accidentally
present their viewpoints in a challenging manner to gain control. Self-esteem in
the group asserts itself to be more accurate than the rest of the opinions,
thereby creating contradictions that affect the group spirit. For example, during
group work on subtitles, some members may prefer the Vietnamese language in
video subtitles because it is powerful and easily suitable for conveying project
goals as well as the target audience, while others may favor British-English
because some members have experience working with it and think it will save
time. When a member disagrees, sympathizing with the general direction leads
to group conflicts and the storming stage appears. So the Storming stages phase
can be understood as a negative phase, easily causing conflicts during group
activities.

To resolve conflicts during the Storming phase, we will have to skillfully come
up with standard solutions to calm the situation by creating a private space for
everyone to discuss again for them to open up. Open and express many
different options and perspectives, and encourage yourself to voice your
opinion and judge ideas that are impossible or ineffective. This will help the
individual's self-esteem grow.

The Storming stage is a stage where disagreements and conflicts can easily
break the group spirit, so it is a stage that always requires patience to calmly
come up with a solution to the problem. If we successfully harmoniously go
through the storming stage, we have obtained values for ourselves as well as
promoted strong self-esteem for ourselves.
