SPACE BULK

A HUB amalgam generator

The scariest you can expect from a bridging malfunction is being trapped between
dimensions…
…unless it gets back to reality.

A Space bulk is an amalgam of HUBs which merged with each other

after a bridging disaster. Parts are melted inside one another, new
passages have been created, life may have survived there.

BUILD A SPACE BULK _ LIKE A POINT CRAWL _

use NON-PLAYERS HUB tables

I. Build a pool of D6s with two distinctive types of dice, one for
spacecraft and the other for small stations.
More dice, bigger space bulk.

II. Roll the pool on a sheet of paper and circle each die, then
determine the type of HUB by reading the number from the tables
below.

III. For each HUB, determine how many modules it is composed of by

rolling based on the corresponding row for the HUB type:
D2=D4/2 ... D3=D6/2 ... D5=D10/2

D6 SPACECRAFT D6 SMALL STATIONS

1 SCAVENGER D3-1 modules 1 SHUTTLE HUB D2-1 modules

2 SMUGGLER D3-1 modules 2 BLACK MARKET D4-2 modules

3 EXPLORER D3-1 modules 3 MOON LAB* D3-1 modules

4 SALVAGER D2-1 modules 4 MARSHAL SATELLITE D3-1 modules

5 TRUCKER D4-2 modules 5 SMALL PORT D2-1 modules

6 MARSHAL D5-3 modules 6 ASTEROID BAR* D2-1 modules

* There is still rock/ice/whatever

Choose or roll randomly to determine the functional modules from the

NON-PLAYERS HUBS tables. Modules from the GENERAL or TECH modules
tables can also be used to add or replace those on the HUB tables.

"Three years into their shift, one of their officers had a psychological breakdown.

The doctors referred to it as ODS symptom. The privates, we call it Pandorum.

It drove him insane. He became convinced that the flight was cursed. Evil."

- Pandorum
IV. Draw one to four connections for each HUB, then roll a D10 on
the following table to determine its type. Combine pathways between
different HUBs:

1D10 CONNECTION SPACECRAFT SMALL STATIONS

1 Hallway 1~2 people walk abreast 2~4 people walk abreast

2 Maintenance corridor See table below See table below

3 Vertical access Ladder or Stairs Ladder, Stairs or Elevator

4 Airlock 1~2 people fit in EVA suit 3~5 people fit in

5 Command center Can hold ~5 people Can hold ~10 people

6 Crew quarters Dormitory Individual room

7 Life support room 1~2 people fit in 2~3 people fit in

8 Mess Can hold 1 crew Can hold 1~5 crew

9 Power system room 1~2 people fit in 2~4 people fit in

10 Locked door, the other side is depressurized

1D3 MAINTENANCE CORRIDOR SMALL STATIONS

1 Ceiling, crouched at best, 1 people Ceiling, can be stand, 1 people abreast

abreast

2 Under the ground, have to crawl, 1 Under the ground, crouched at best, 1
people abreast people abreast

3 Between walls, have to crabwalk, 1 Between walls, 1 people abreast

people abreast
V. Place additional connections equal to the number of HUBs divided
by four, rounded down, with a minimum of one. Roll on the table
below to determine the type, just once or each time a PC enters the
connection.

D10 WEIRD PATHWAY

1 Hallway. Geometric shape = d3: 1.ellipse 2.rhombus 3.triangle

2 Outside looks normal, inside is in 2 dimensions

3 Absolute black. Only darkness which can’t be lighted

4 Absolute white. Pure light which can’t be looked at

5 At the edge. Stars are visible on one side. Nothingness on the other side

6 Between dimensions. Ask the player to describe it. Different to every one

7 Umbilical bridge. The bright light of the stars reveal large, strange shapes.

8 Umbilical, plastic or flesh?! Near-death experience. Roll on DEATH IN SPACE table

9 Tunnel through the void. Wall surface pulsating. Later, untolerable static noises

10 Visible void. Sucked in and spat out. Uncontrollable spinning during the whole trip

Each trip triggers a test
