ANALYSIS OF FAMILY SUPPORT WITH ANXIETY LEVEL OF STROKE PATIENTS

TREATING NEUROLOGICAL PHYSIOTHERAPY IN BHAYANGKARA HOSPITAL

Anxiety of stroke patients undergoing physiotherapy is one of the signals of activity/mobility

disturbances experienced by stroke patients for a long time can lead to psychological impacts,
especially can increase anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship
between family support and anxiety levels of stroke patients undergoing neurologic
physiotherapy at Bhayangkara Hospital, Kediri City. The design of this research is correlational
research with cross sectional approach. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling
technique that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a sample of 30 people. The
independent variable is Family Support and the dependent variable is the Anxiety Level of Stroke
Patients Undergoing Neurological Physiotherapy. The results of statistical tests using spearman
rank. The results showed that family support for patients undergoing neurologic physiotherapy
was known that most of the respondents as many as 22 (73%) respondents were in the Good
category. The anxiety level of stroke patients undergoing neurologic physiotherapy is known that
almost all respondents as many as 24 (80%) respondents in the Mild Anxiety category. The
results of data analysis show that the significance level is 0.000 < = 0.05 so that H0 is rejected
and H1 is accepted, thus there is a relationship between Family Support and Anxiety Levels of
Stroke Patients Undergoing Neurological Physiotherapy at Bhayangkara Hospital, Kediri City.
Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was a relationship between family
support and the anxiety level of stroke patients undergoing neurologic physiotherapy. The higher
the family support, the patient's compliance with physiotherapy will also improve, without family
support physiotherapy cannot be carried out according to schedule.
