Measure of Central Tendency or Average

Average occurs regularly in our daily life and it is an

important tool in statistics. A well-chosen average consist of
a single number about which a given data are centered.
There can be several different types of averages or
sometimes called measures of central tendency.
They are the:

❑ Mean
❑ Median
❑ Mode

WEIGHTED MEAN
This is used to find the mean of values of the
data set that are not equally represented. The
weighted average can be found by multiplying
the value by its corresponding weight and
dividing the sum the products by the sum of
their weights.

Percentiles are position measures used in
educational and health – related fields to indicate the
position of an individual in a group. It is symbolized
by and divide the distribution into 100
groups.
