Rationale

According to Big Indonesian Dictionary (1991), Education is defined as a learning

process for the individual to attain knowledge and understanding of higher specific objects and

specific. The knowledge gained formally resulting individuals having a pattern of thought and

behavior in accordance with the education they have gained.

Students learn from their parent’s behavior, which is reinforced through rewards and

punishments. The parent’s involvement in their child’s education can act as positive

reinforcement and encourage good behavior, while the lack of parental involvement can lead to

negative behavior and a lack of academic motivation. (Rashid, 2023)

Disengaged parents who are not interested in the academic life of their kids often

promote school failures, making it difficult to learn appropriate behaviors and limits in school

and other social situations. Especially during the college journey, it's hard to make some

interactions with college students and participation with those professors.

Objectives
1. To be involved and participate in the educational process.

2. To review parenting sets students up for success.

3. To develop student achievement, self-esteem, and behavior.

It is apparent that parental involvement has a significant impact on student behavior.

Students whose parents are involved in their education are more likely to have better academic
performance, attendance, motivation, social skills, and confidence. On the other hand. It's
essential for parents to take an active role in their child’s education and work with teachers to
promote positive behavior and academic success.

This study aimed to gather more information about the effects of parental involvement on
student behavior among college students and how it works through their academic success.

For the students, having supportive parents makes them more confident to face different
challenges in school whether it talks about the activities or about communicating with his/her
classmates. The moral support of the parents was very essential to the college students because
they know that there are people who will always be there to provide for and guide them
throughout this journey of life.
