females saw a substantial increase between 1980 and 2010.
Over the next 20 years, the percentage of Australian women who diagnosed obesity jumped
slightly to just a half in 1990, then reached a peak of 70% in 2000, but later followed by a
moderate decline to about 68%. By contrast, 40% of Australian females who suffered from
obesity in 1980 saw a swift growth and remained stable at 50% from 2000 to 2010.
