The bar chart compares the proportion of obese Australians between 1980 and 2010.

Generally, the rate of overweight males outnumbered that of females in each year.
Furthermore, the figure for both men and women who were fat experienced an upward
trennd over the first 20-year of the given period before undergoing a marginal decline in
2010.

Looking at the percentage of overweight Australian men in more detail, in 1980,

around 40% were reported and this figure saw a slight rise to approximately 9% over
the next 10 years. After that, the proportion of those men continually slided away to
roughly 65% in 2000, followed by a mild drop to nearly 5% accordingly.

Turning to obese females in this country, the lowest figure for two sexes was
recorded at over 30% in the beginning period. Twenty years later, the female
overweight rate witnessed a considerable climb by 10% every 10 years and reached at
almost 50% in 2000. Eventually, the figure for Australian women remained stable at this
point towards the end of the research period.
