2.2 Critical design parameters illustrations:

Access doors
 Vertical slide-up door held by 2 vertically placed L profiles attached to the conveyor frame
to be installed all along both sides casing of conveyor
 Deflector plate located at the bottom
 Vertical strips fitted on the sloped bottom
 Made of antistatic material
 A typical door opening size is 450 mm x 450mm. which will require an air flow of 800 m3/h
for 1 m/sec
 The doors must be provided with a lock to prevent lifting the doors without first unlocking.
This can be a simple in/out pin type
 Each slider bed section is typically fitted with 2 access doors
 In each segment a separate access door should be fitted to allow each accessibility for the
dust skirts replacement/ maintenance
 For more details please refer to attached design guidelines for access doors

Illustrative schematics for access doors execution:

Lay on guides

 Vertical extension of the bottom part of the bin and are present in the full belt section
along the bin opening
 Increase in height along the length of the conveyor (1 – 3 degrees)
 Maintain bottom skirts at same height and install belt conveyor tilted slightly downwards in
the direction of the product flow (1 – 3 degrees)

Dust skirts

 Fitted along the full length of the conveyor

 White neoprene segmented dust skirts (length for each segment should be equal to the
section length)
 Overlapping between dust skirts segments is required to ensure proper sealing.
 make a ‘line contact’ along the outside edges of the belt
 Product should never come in contact with these skirts
 The skirts should be positioned minimum 50mm from the belt edge. At maximum loading,
the powder bed should be at minimum 50 mm from the dust skirt.

Illustrative schematics for Lay-on guides and Dust skirts executions

Belt conveyor Dust control and Ventilation (not applicable for tower belt)

EXECUTION: for more details please refer to the design guideline attached
Belt conveyor scrapper executions

a) All belts casing should be equipped with scrappers “motorized bottom cleaning device - two
driven chains on sides carrying cleaning cross beams
b) Secondary cleaner is required for all belts on the bottom belt side behind the drive drum
c) Arrow belt scraper on the internal belt surface before take-up drum is required for all belts
d) Driving drum scrapper is required for all belts
e) Primary (pre- cleaner) scrapper located tangential spring loaded at the driving drum is
required only for tower belts

3. MOTOR & ELECTRICAL

3.1. All motors shall comply with the attached unit data and shall as a minimum be to IP 55.

3.2 All motors should be suitable for VFD applications

3.3. The contractor shall ensure electrical continuity to earth. All items shall be securely bonded
to earth points. Flexible connections shall be bridged using copper braids. A suitable earth
connection shall be provided at the unit base frame.

3.4. Installed motor power shall be at least 20 % greater than the maximum absorbed load at
normal operating conditions.

3.5. Base frames shall incorporate a means of adjusting the motor position.

3.6. Equipment will operate under different condition of electrical network system - 3x 380 V /
50 Hz or 3x 380 V / 60 Hz (in Saudi Arabia, USA). Equipment has to be suitable for both
systems and has to be able execute required feed rate.

4. FINISH AND PAINTING

4.1. The vendor will provide, if required, his standard painting procedure for P&G approval.

4.2. Carbon steel needs a minimum 40 µm primer and 40 µm finishing.

5. DOCUMENTATION, INSPECTION AND TESTING

5.1. The vendor shall supply all documentation called for by P&G, including as a minimum that
required by the engineering data and drawing schedule.

5.2. The P&G engineer and/or his inspecting authority reserves the right to inspect at any stage
during manufacturing or testing. It is required that before release of the package to the site,
the Engineer shall visit the Contractors works to witness operational dry tests and/or carry
out visual inspections.

5.3. Final acceptance of any package shall be at site with equipment running during the
commissioning stage.

6. ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

6.1 On the bottom of the belt conveyor case will be installed scraper. The scraper will work
continuously together with main belt.

6.2 Pulley detector (on non-driven pulley) will be equipped by sensor IFM electronic model: IB
5096/IB3020-BPKG (230V, 50Hz) with support E10193.

6.3 Non-drive pulley for scraper has the same sensor too

6.4 The conveyor is made of a number of identical slider bed sections, fitted with a head and tail
section. Each slider bed section is typically fitted with 2 access doors.

6.5 Product chute must be 100 % towards the direction of the belt travel.

6.6 The conveyor belt is supported by slider bed sections between tail and head pulley. In cross-
section, the bed is curved over a radius. The bed is formed by plates and by longitudinal
adjacent bars at the bottom. At the pulleys, there is a transition from round to a flat bed.

6.7 The return belt is supported by individual sectional rollers. Typically, one sectional roller per
section.

Both spiral or discs design are accepted) – illustrative picture for the disc design. MOC is
Nylon or PTFE

6.8 All bearings of pulleys and support rolls must be outside the conveyor housing.

6.9 The bottom part of the conveyor housing is a flat plate. There is sufficient space between
return belt and bottom part to allow cleaning.
