Introduction

In (1951), the idea of statistical convergence was introduced indepen-

dently by Fast, with the aim of providing deeper insights into summability
theory. In (1932), Agnew generalized Cesaro mean to deferred Cesaro
mean to obtain a more useful method having stronger features. Then, in
(2016), Küçükaslan utilize this to introduce the notion of deferred statis-
tical convergence mainly as a natural generalization of statistical conver-
gence, λ-statistical convergence and lacunary statistical convergence.
On the other hand, the concept of fuzzy sets was first introduced by
Zadeh in the year (1965). In (1986) Atanassov introduced intuitionistic
fuzzy sets as an extension of fuzzy sets. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets have
been widely used to solve various decision-making problems. Many times,
decision-makers face some hesitations besides going to direct approaches
(i.e., yes or no) in decision making. In addition, we can obtain a tricom-
ponent outcome in some real events like sports, the procedure for voting,
etc.

Introduction

Considering all in (1998), Smarandache introduced the notion of the

Neutrosophic set as a generalization of both fuzzy set and intuitionistic
fuzzy set. An element belonging to a neutrosophic set consists of a triplet
namely truth-membership function (T ), indeterminacy-membership func-
tion (F ), and falsity-membership function (I ). The notion of fuzzy normed
space was introduced by Felbin in the year (1992). In (2008), statistical
convergence in intuitionistic fuzzy normed spaces was introduced and in-
vestigated by Karakus et.al.. Recently, Kirisci and Simsek introduced
neutrosophic normed linear space and investigated the notion of statisti-
cal convergence.

Brief Progress Report

In this section, we discuss the results obtained so far. We investigated

the objective-1 which deals with the concept deferred statistical conver-
gence in neutrosophic normed spaces and establish some of its properties:

Definition 1
Let V be a NNS. A sequence (xk ) is said to be deferred statistical
convergent to ℓ with respect to neutrosophic norm, if for every
0 < ε < 1, δp,q (Kε ) = 0, where

Kε = {p(n) < k ≤ q(n) : R(xk − ℓ, λ) ≤ 1 − ε, T (xk − ℓ, λ) ≥ ε

and W(xk − ℓ, λ) ≥ ε}.

In this case, we write, xk → ℓ(N − DS[p, q]).

Brief Progress Report

Remark 2
It is clear that,
➀ If q(n) = n and p(n) = 0, then Definition 1 coincides with the
definition of statistical convergence in neutrosophic normed spaces.
(Kirisci and Simsek, [10])
➁ If q(n) = λn p(n) = 0 ( where λ is a non-decreasing sequence of
positive integers tending to ∞ such that λn+1 ≤ λn + 1, λ1 = 0),
then Definition 1 turns to the definition of λ-statistical convergence
sequence. (Khan et. al., [7])
➂ If q(n) = kn and p(n) = kn−1 ( for any lacunary sequence of
non-negative integer satisfying kn − kn−1 → ∞ as n → ∞), then
Definition 1 coincides with the definition of lacunary statistical
convergence. (Khan et. al., [8])

following statements are equivalent:
➀ xk → ℓ(N − DS[p, q]);
➁ δp,q ({k ∈ N : R(xk − ℓ, λ) ≤ 1 − ε}) = δp,q ({k ∈ N :
T (xk − ℓ, λ) ≥ ε}) = δp,q ({k ∈ N : W(xk − ℓ, λ) ≥ ε}) = 0;
➂ δp,q ({k ∈ N : R(xk − ℓ, λ) > 1 − ε or T (xk − ℓ, λ) <
ε or W(xk − ℓ, λ) < ε}) = 1;
➃ δp,q ({k ∈ N : R(xk − ℓ, λ) > 1 − ε}) = δp,q ({k ∈ N :
T (xk − ℓ, λ) < ε}) = δp,q ({k ∈ N : W(xk − ℓ, λ) < ε}) = 1;
➄ R(xk − ℓ, λ) → 1(N − DS[p, q]) or T (xk − ℓ, λ) → 0(N − DS[p, q])
