ABSTRACT
_________________________________________________
Ginger and Vinegar are made as organic insecticide. Ginger is a tropical plant that was spread around the
tropical world during the colonial days. In Africa, Asia, or South America and many hot spots between those
continents, locals have taken to using ginger widely in medicine and food. The entire ginger family is rich in
oils that both kill microcritters and stimulate the immune system to do the same. The way it stimulates the
immune system to do the same. The ways it stimulates the body are many, and, whether added to food or
taken as a medicinal tea, ginger makes your body a little bit stronger and a little bit better and able to resist
the damaging forces of nature. Ginger has antibacterial and antifungal properties with great potentials in
fighting against common vegetable pests.

The ginger is one of the materials needed to make the organic insecticide. It is chopped and since its oils
can kill micro-critters it is very useful in killing various insects. Vinegar is all-natured liquid which is the
one that kills the insects which is the one that kills the insects when made contact. And if you put the ginger
and vinegar together and out them in a spray bottle you will create the organic insecticide. And when you
tested it is effective on many insects. Just spray on and insect and you will see the results. Many insecticides
are made today. And most of them are made with toxic chemicals which can harm the environment. This
product that I am going to make is safe and good for our environment since there are no toxic chemicals it is
cheap and easy to make and also to use. This is also can prevent an allergic into your respiratory system
which is probably in cause of the odor of an ordinary insecticide.

INTRODUCTION
_______________________________________________________________________________________

The protection of plants from various insects using insecticides is often necessary. However, the negative
effects of synthetic insecticides need to be considered. Synthetic insecticides are containing chemical
substances that can harm to the health of humans, plants, and especially to the environment.
Chemicals regardless of kinds and composition are undoubtedly harmful to health in any forms of life. In
this project, people tend to move a life-changing and an eco-friendly organic insecticide associated with
ginger and chili extract that can be used effectively at home. The knowledge is simple but practical
technology in this study can help us save the expensive and harmful insecticides for our home.

We can grow healthful food without depending too much on toxic chemicals and the chemical fertilizers
with NATURAL ORGANIC AND BIOLOGICAL FARMING systems. The knowledge and simple
practical technology in this manuscript can save your crops and help you earn more from your garden and
farm. Let’s return to the natural ways. This product can give a lot of advantage when it comes to nature.
Many people can less their expenses.

CHAPTER 1: THE PROBLEM AND IT’S SCOPE

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. Which of the trials are most effective on insects?

2. What will happen to the insects because of the insecticide?
3. What will happen to the plants if it is used on them?
4. Is it safe on plants also?
5. What kind of insects will it kill?
HYPOTHESIS

1. The first trial is the most effective among the 4 trials because there is more ginger to it.
2. The insects will be killed.
3. The plants will not get damage and it will be insect-free.
4. Yes, because the ginger is also a plant so when you put it into another plant, it will not be harmed.
5. It can kill ants, flies, mosquitoes, snails, apids, moths, earthworms, and cockroaches.

OBJECTIVE

To produce insecticide out of vinegar and ginger is our objective. In order to create natural mixture this can
kill insects. Because it is natural, it cannot harm our environment unlike other insect killers which can also
harm our environment.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The researchers have made this organic insect killer out of ginger and vinegar to create and environment
friendly substance. Since, our environment is at stake because of pollution. One of these pollutions is on air.
If you haven’t noticed, our planet is deteriorating because of this. And one of the causes of air pollution is
the insecticides and pesticides which have harmful chemicals. We all know that most of the insecticides and
pesticides used today contain those harmful chemicals. To lessen the problem or air pollution, the
researchers have made this organic insecticide.
REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

Our product is all organic and since it is safe to use and effective it is great replacement on those toxic
insecticide. Ginger and Vinegar are the main ingredients of our product. Ginger has oils in which can help
kill insects and vinegar as well has acid that also kills insects. That’s why this project is much of use to you
especially when it comes to gardening.

RELATED STUDIES

Insecticide and Repellents

Use these natural insecticides to repel and eliminate harmful pests. The following categories of products use
botanicals or plant extracts that are applied to plant foliage. Natural insecticides combat insects upon contact
or through ingestion. Use as part of an Integrated Pest Management program which includes traps for
monitoring and capturing pests and beneficial insects and organism to control pests in their developing
stages. Enhancing fertility programs with natural fertilizers and soil amendments will increase plants health
and resistance to all types of pests in your home or garden including weeds and diseases.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Vinegar is a liquid substance consisting mainly in acetic acid and water, the acetic acid being produced
through the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria. It is today mainly used in the kitchen as a
general cooking ingredient, but historically, as the most easily available mild acid, it had a great variety of
industrial, medical, and domestic uses, some of which are still promoted today. Commercial vinegar is
produced either by fast or slow fermentation processes. In general, slow methods are used with traditional
vinegars and fermentation proceeds slowly over the course of weeks or months the longers fermentation
period allows for accumulation of a nontoxic slime composed of acetic acid bacteria. Fast methods add more
of vinegar to the source liquid before adding air using venture pump system or a turbine to promote
oxygenation to obtain the fastest fermentation. In fast production processes, vinegar may be produced in a
period ranging from 20 hours to three days. And ginger or ginger root is the rhizome of the plant Zingiber
officinale, consumed as a delicacy, medicine, or spice. It lends its name to its genus and family
(zingiberaceae). Other notable members of this plant family are turmeric, cardamom, and galangal. These
two studies come up to make an organic insect killer.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Insecticide: Are substances used to kill insects. They include ovicides and larvicides used
against the eggs and larvae of insects respectively. Insecticides are used in
agriculture, medicine, industry, and the household. The use of insecticide is believed
to be one of the major factors behind the increase in agriculture productivity in the
20th century. Nearly all insecticides have the potential to significantly alter
ecosystem; many are toxic to humans; and others are concentrated in the food
chain.

Ginger: Or ginger root is the rhizome of the plant Zingiberofficinale, consumed as a delicacy,
medicine of spice. It lends its name to its genus and family (Zingiberaceae). Other notable
member of this plant family are turmeric, cardamom, and galangal.

Vinegar: Is a liquid substance consisting mainly of acetic acid and water, the acetic acid being
produced through the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria.

CHAPTER IV: SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND

RECOMMENDATIONS
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS:

In this project the researchers have formulated an organic insecticide which is effective on all sorts of
insects. In the research we have done, we’ve come to this point which we have learned and discovered that
what we have made is very much effective. The trials and research proves that this product can be good use
especially on your garden. With this organic insecticide you can now take care of your garden the natural
way without using those other insecticides that contains toxic chemicals which can help lessen your
problems towards those insects but can also destroy our environment. Because of this product you can now
protect your garden from certain insects but you can also lessen the problems of the environment because of
this product.

RECOMMENDATION:

More than 1,000 Filipinos die every year because of dengue. This has been a big issue in our society,
especially on the health of our young once that has been resolved. Now, the time has come to slowly put an
end to this deadly insect. Now the invention has occurred to be made to reduce the population of dengue-
causing mosquitoes.

We would like to suggest our most recent contribution to our society in an effort to lessen and possibly
eliminate the cause of dengue. In order for people to use this product as a safer alternative to toxic
insecticide and mosquito repellent, we recommend it not only to our fellow students but also to everyone.
Since this is easy to make, and it is not harmful to our health because it is made out of vinegar and ginger

It is easy to make, cheaper than the others, good for your health and environmentally friendly. That is what
our vinegar and ginger insecticide repellent is. It is proven to be effective and quality-based as well.
