Notes:

1. The elevations and chainages are in mm.


2. Length of gabion box structure to be determined by the Engineer.
3. Gabion box frame strength may be increased by using T10 bars.
4. Mechanically woven twisted hexagonal mesh wire to be laid between GB layers as additional reinforcement.
5. C20 concrete reinforced with T8 bar to act as a suitable smooth working table.
6. Geotextile permittivity and apparent opening size requirements according to ASTMD 4491/ IS 14324: 1995 and ASTMD 4751/1514294: 1995.
7. Mechanically woven twisted hexagonal mesh wire to be laid between GB layers as additional reinforcement.
8. Mesh wire to galvanized medium aggressive environment (C3) with design life of 50 years in accordance with EN ISO 9223.
9.Retained fill to have unit weight of 20kN/m² - 21.6kN/m² in accordance as per IS 1498.
10. Gabion fill to conform with BS 5390 with 173mm minimum to 200mm maximum with 5% down to 50mm -80mm to fill voids.

12. The cover thickness of concrete is 30mm


13. T: denotes deformed bar yield strength of deformed bar is 450MPA.
14. Retained structural fill should be clean without topsoil or organic materials compacted in layers with thickness not greater than 300mm.
15. Extent of gabion support structure to be determined by stable end supports.
16. Gabion unit structure to be tilted at 6° towards the heel for more stability.
17. Horizontal force (Fr = density of water (ρ)*area(A)*velocity of water(v)) and v = Q/(A)) and weight exerted on the face of the structure.
