1. Ethnicity

 Ethnicity, in layman’s term, is the quality, traits, and characteristics shared by

a certain group of individuals, oftentimes with the same nationality and race.

To widen the perspective, ethnicity is how a group of individuals, referred to

as “Ethnic groups”, are characterized, generalized, and identified.

2. Indigenous People

 The term “indigenous” is often associated to the group of people who have

long inhabited a certain territory, land, or nation. They are, usually, the earliest

groups of people that are considered habitants of a particular place.

1. The Indigenous Peoples’s rights act of 1997 (IPRA) – Officially designated as

Republic Act No. 8371, is a Philippine law that recognizes and promotes the

rights of indigenous cultural communities and indigenous peoples in the

Philippines.
