What are micro-
credentials?
 Micro credentials are short,
focused, digital certifications that
verify the specific skill and or
knowledge in a particular area.
This can be achieved in a short
amount of time through a digital
format.
 The difference between micro
credentials and traditional
credentials differ from one
another because with traditional
credentials it requires a longer
duration of study and it issues as
a physical certificate instead of a
digital .
Stackable
Credentials
 Stackable Credentials is the process of
earning multiple educational
achievements and certifications in
which over time they will have a lot of
credentials to show all their skills and
achievements.
 Stackable Credentials are used to
peruse your interest, career goals,
and fill in the skill gaps so you can
excel in your job field while also
showing your employer every skill you
have to see if you are the right fit for
the job,
 Ex: Resume- something that
shows all your skills and
achievements

credentials within Houston Christian University

 Planning: Make goals and objectives for integrating both micro credentials and
s
stackable credentials while also creating assessments to see where each
person skills set and knowledge to ger a understanding of what each person
enrolled is at and what they are wanting to gain from the process
 Curriculum Design: Develop micro-credentials in close collaboration with
academics and subject-matter specialists to address the skills and knowledge
gaps that have been identified.
 Verification: Implement a system for creating and validating micro-credentials,
such as easily transferable digital badges or certificates while also making sure
system complies with industry for data protection and security
 Pricing: All faculty determine pricing after micro and stackable credential
courses are created
 Incorporation: Fix all bugs and start to put it out there for people to enroll and
start the course to earn their credentials
