WEEK 5 LESSON 5: Analytical Listening in Problem Solving

MELC 5: Employ analytical listening in problem solving
Concept: Read and reflect on the concept below. (Ito ay karagdagan ng discussion na nakalagay sa PIVOT CLMD
in English 10 pp 24.)
Analytical listening enables the listener to establish relationships between and among items in a given text. It
is listening to evaluate a message for the purposes of accepting or rejecting the message such as when one is listening
to a sales pitch or a campaign speech. Analytical listening focuses on evaluating whether a message is logical or
reasonable. Critical listening is when one examines what is being said for the true meaning behind the words. It
allows a person to decipher the meaning behind someone’s words.
Critical thinking, on the other hand, is where one looks at a situation to make a judgement. It allows a person
to examine situations in a broader and more informed way.
Directions/ Instructions: Write A if you agree with the statement and D if you disagree with it. (Basahin ang
concept sa itaas. Dito magsasagot.)
