For the world toilet Organization, World Toilet Day is the Day to take
action in sanitation. This sanitation crisis means untreated human waste is
spreading disease into water supplies and food chain for billions of people. It is
the day to raise awareness, about all people who do not have access to a toilet-
despite the human right to water and sanitation. It is the day to do something
and help about it especially to our student. A toilet is not just a toilet. It’s a life
saver, dignity-protector and opportunity maker. We must expand access to
toilets and leave no- one behind. Because whoever you are, wherever you are,
sanitation is your human right.
The world toilet day started with the flag Ceremony, followed by a short
talk with the students about the situation experienced not in Filipino students
but also from other countries who still practice open defecation. It also
includes discussion regarding correct usage of restrooms and the effects of not
practicing good hygiene. After the program representatives from different grade
levels led by the WaSH club simultaneously clean the restrooms to raise
awareness among their fellow student to use restroom properly. Teachers also
supported the celebration by integrating the concept of sanitation throughout
their class.
