(Sampling Distribution-With Replacement when n=2)

1. A finite population consists of the numbers 2, 4 and 6

a) Form the sampling distribution of X , when random sample of size 2 are drawn
with replacement .
b) Verify the result .

2. A population consists of 4 values 3 , 6 ,9 and 12 .Write down all possible samples of size
2 with replacement from this population .Form sampling distribution of mean and
calculate its mean and variance .Calculate mean and variance of population and verify its
results .

3. Assume that simple random samples of two childrens are selected with replacement from
a population of five children with ages 4,5,6,7 and 8.Let X be the age of any child ,find
the following :

a) The theoretical sampling distribution of x-bar ,the mean age of two children in
any sample .
b) The mean and Standard deviation of x-bar .

4. Differentiate between Probability sampling and Non-Probability Sampling
