Survival instincts

I woke up as usual, since my mother called me to come down to eat and then get
ready to go to school again, I never liked this routine, it was always the same, I
was willing to have a snack and go to school but decided do something different
today, the truth was that I had been tired and stressed from school so I decided to
just stay hidden in the bathroom waiting for my mother to go to work so I wouldn't
have to go to school again.
I am Thomas Davies, I am 14 years old, I grew up in a town called Clovelly, my
parents decided not to have any more siblings so I am an only child, I really had a
wonderful life, I had my friends, my school, my home, I could not ask for anything
more, but since we moved to London my life has been unbearable and stressful, I
am not a very sociable person so starting from scratch in a new school full of
teenagers was not going to be so easy.

The reason for my move was the sudden death of my grandfather, or well, the
disappearance of my grandfather since no remains of his body have been found.
My grandfather was an adventurer, I admired him and since I was little I always
wanted to be like him; and in one of those adventures he lost, that was a great pain
inside me, which also left me very frustrated; he also left behind a large amount of
money and land that my father inherited, so we went to live at his house in London.

At school I started to go wrong because this move and the death of my grandfather
had affected me a lot, I was finally happy in one place and now we were just
leaving there, my mind was so out of place that I stopped paying attention to class,
my grades went down and the truth is that it started to get me into a lot of trouble,
the kids didn't like me very much so normally fought with them. They started calling
my parents from school because of my disciplinary and academic problems, I think
that disappointed them.
