simultaneously. For example, it can check the active power and reactive power of the
multifunction meter at the same time); three single-phase meters, three three-phase
meters or single-meter and three-phase meter can be measured simultaneously; And it
can measure the error of calibration device for energy meter composed of three single-
phase meters.
Especially for multi-constant standard meter (electric energy meter) or calibration device,
because it needs to re-input the constants and the pulse counts in checking process, it will
lower the work efficiency greatly. While checking standard meter (electric energy meter)
or calibration device by this appliance, the appliance can set them automatically, so it will
enhance your efficiency greatly.

5.10.1. Settings output parameters
For the first time to enter the interface for parameters settings for the appliance, or

pressing the button 1 to choose “constant”, the system will enter the
interface of output constant settings. As shown in the figure, the output pulse’s relevant
parameter of the three channels can be set respectively.

Figure 6.11.1 the interface for output constant settings

The appliance has two constant modes. In the “auto” constant mode, parameters are
set by the appliance automatically, and the frequency of the electric energy pulse is 60
kHz when it meets rated input of this range.
In manual mode, the user can set the desired constants (its range can refer to the table).
In any range, this meter can output the pulses according to the parameters that the
user has set. The range of the frequency of the pulse (“Fout”) is 0<fout≤10kHz.

Functions of the menu buttons:

Page -36-

pulse constant by default.

Choosing the option of the input parameters.

Deleting the wrong numbers that be inputted.

choosing the pulse port (Fout1, Fout2, Fout3) that needs to set.

Moving the cursor to the parameter frame that need to input.

Under the interface, settings for relevant items of channel 1(Fout1) at the top of the screen;
channel 2 (Fout2) is in the middle and channel 3 (Fout3) is at the bottom.
Significance of each parameter:
Constant type: corresponding to the constant type of the output channel: active power,
reactive power, apparent power, voltage and current (the constant); and the default is the
“active power”.
Function of the channel: corresponding to the function of constants of output channel.
⚫ “Total”: representing the total power or the total energy (active power, reactive
power and apparent power).
⚫ “Phase1”: Active power, reactive power, apparent power, voltage or current of R-
phase of the appliance.
⚫ “Phase2”: Active power, reactive power, apparent power, voltage or current of Y-
phase of the appliance.
⚫ “Phase3”: Active power, reactive power, apparent power, voltage or current of Y-
phase of the appliance.
The default is “Total”.

Note: When the three channels are set as “Phase1”, “Phase2”, ”Phase3”
respectively, the appliance can be used as three single-phase meters. When
constant type is voltage or current, the function of channel “Total” is invalid
Constant mode: the automatic constant or manual constant. the default is “auto”, the
channel constant input frame becomes black automatically to indicate input is not allowed.

Channel constant: when the constant mode is “manual”, you can input the input frame a
constant you want; if constant you input exceed the range, there will be some cue on the
screen. The ranges of constant are as follow:
Total active (reactive, apparent) constant: 0<constant≤250000.
Page -37-
SY-3102 Standard Meter Operation Manual
Phase (sigle-phase) active (reactive, apparent) constant: 0<constant≤750000.
Voltage (sigle-phase) constant: 0<constan≤7500000.
Current (sigle-phase) constant: 0<constan≤36000000.
For instance: Channel 2 output constant is set as follows:
Constant type: reactive:
Channel function: “Phase1”.
Constant mode: “Man”
Channel constant: “25000”
The meaning is that the pulse constant of pulse output Fout2 is reactive constant of R-phase
of the appliance (single phase). Constant is”25000”.
In auto mode, the appliance works out each output Fout constant according to measuring
range of voltage U and current I automatically (see the table)

shown in the figure 6.11.2. Then, you can set the relevant parameters of system.

Figure 6.11.2 Settings for parameters of the appliance

Describe functions menu buttons as follow:

Switching the interface of the appliance’s system-parameter
(the constant, the parameter, the time).

Setting the relevant parameters of the three channels output

pulse constant by default.

Choosing the option of the input parameters.

Deleting the wrong numbers that be inputted.

choosing the pulse port (Fout1, Fout2, Fout3) that needs to set.

Moving the cursor to the parameter frame that need to input.

The following system parameters can be set:

⚫ V-Threshold: that is a minimum threshold of voltage, when the value of the voltage to
be measured is larger than that threshold, the data display normally; when the voltage
value is smaller than that threshold, it displays 0.00000 and unit is V. The default value
is “0.0” V.
⚫ I-Threshold: that is a minimum threshold of current, when the value of the current to
be measured is larger than that threshold*In, the data display normally; when the
current value is smaller than that threshold*In, it displays 0.00000 and unit is %. The
default value is “0.0” %
⚫ Background Color: background color of the measuring data or parameters. There
are five kinds of colors totally. Default is “1.”

⚫ Beeper: turn on or turn off the Beeper. Default is turn on
⚫ Error Time: when you check error and the number of pulses is in auto mode, the time
basis of calculating pulse can choose among”3,5,8,10” second. Default is “3” second.
⚫ S Number: when you check error, it is used to calculate the count of sampling
estimated value. Chosen between 10 and 5 and default is “10.”
⚫ Baud: when you choose serial asynchronous communication, it is used to set
communications baud rate of the appliance. Select among “2400, 4800,
9600,19200,28800,38400, 57600,115200 “. Default is “9600”.
⚫ Refresh time: integration time of the measuring data on the screen and can be set 1
– 99 seconds. Default is “1” second.
⚫ Vector Point: Set a starting position for drawing vector diagram: 12:00 o’clock or 3:00
o’clock
⚫ Vector Display: length mode of vector in vector graphs drawing mode, the vector length
varies according to the signal amplitude in “proportion” mode; the vector length is fixed
in “fixed -length” mode.
⚫ Vector Rotation: vector rotation direction in vector graphs drawing mode and can be
set as “Clockwise” or “Anticlockwise”
⚫ Error unit: the unit of error and can be set as “%” or “ppm” (1ppm=1×106)
⚫ Stability algorithm: The available stability algorithms: DL/T460-2005, JJG597-
2005B1, GB/T11150-2001, JJG597-2005B2, mean square root method A, mean
square root method B.

ALGORITHMS PARAMETERS IS DIFFERENT ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT ALGORITHMS.

DISPLAY MODE: Set the refresh mode of data. When “measurement period” is selected,
stability calculating occurs when the sampling frequency from 0 to the
set number and data is refreshed. When “slide show” is selected,
stability calculating occurs when the sampling frequency from 0 to set
number for the first time and stability data is displayed. Later, re-
calculating once while sampling and refresh display.

SAMPLING INTERVAL: the time interval for each sampling data can be set by number
buttons for stability calculating.
SAMPLING FREQUENCY: the sampling of the data frequency (data number) can be set
through number buttons for stability calculating.

⚫ Var Type: reactive power definition

90 shift method, formula is following, status bar displays “Var0”.
𝑁
1
Q(1,2,3) = ∑ 𝑢𝑖 (1,2,3) ∗ 𝑖𝑖𝑁 (1,2,3)
𝑁 4
𝑖=0
Integral method, formula is as following, status bar displays “Var1”.
𝑛
𝑄=∑ 𝑈𝑘 ∗ 𝐼𝑘 ∗ sin(𝜑𝑢𝑘 − 𝜑𝑖𝑘 ) = 𝑄1 + 𝑄2 + 𝑄3 + ⋯ + 𝑄𝑛
