Advertisements can provide useful information to customers about new products, help companies improve products and increase profits, but they also promote unnecessary consumerism. Constant exposure to ads can influence children to want items that are unaffordable and divert spending from essentials like education. Additionally, ads sometimes exaggerate product quality, leaving people disappointed. Therefore, while ads have some benefits, the government should take action against toxic advertisements that negatively impact lives.

It is true that advertising has become such an inseparable
part of human’s life that some believe it has a positive impact on
them. While I partly agree with this view, I also consider that there are some severe effects on daily activities. Admittedly, advertisements may benefit people at some point. Firstly, they are able to foster brand awareness. Commercial gives information about newly-launched products, which is useful for customers who are unware of such things. Indeed, improving quality would be less successful if the manufacturers do not commercialize their items. For example, one company spends a variety of money on publicity materials in order to approach potential customers, as a result, they makes higher profit and enhances those companies’ competitiveness in the market. Apart from the benefits expressed above, I would argue that all the impacts of advertisements are negative. They can promote consumerism by persuading people to purchase goods or services, which are not required. This has a severe impact on general standard of living as money would be diverted away from the essentials to needless items. For instance, as a result of constant exprosure to commercials, a child may want the lastest smartphone which is not always affordable for parents, but they pay for that rather than investing on education. Moreover, commercials are not always truthful. They are created to present a product in the best possible light, sometimes to the point its quality is exaggerated, leaving people disappointed when using the actual item. In conclusion, it seems to me that advertising is not always advantageous and it also negatively affects us. Therefore, the government should take action to exterminate the toxic advertisements.
