o Today is the start of hajj and tomorrow will be the

day of ‘Arafah. We ask Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬to

accept from all worshippers – all who are praying,

fasting, remembering Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬and

learning. May Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬make it easy for

all who are performing hajj and for all the people
facilitating the hajj.
o We can be limited in our actions, but we can gain
so much and reach so much with dua.

THE JOURNEY OF HAJJ

o Now all the pilgrims will “flow like waves of the sea”
as they leave ‘Arafah and start performing their
rituals for the day. It is a great and powerful image
to see the “flood of people” and this shows the
power and might of Allah (‫)سبحانه وتعالى‬.

SURAH AL BAQARAH 199

Then depart from the place from where [all] the
people depart and ask forgiveness of Allah. Indeed,
Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

o The way the hajj is being performed today is the

same since the time of Ibrahim (‫)عليه السالم‬. And

only Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬can preserve these rituals.

Our prayer, our fasting and al our rituals are

preserved by Allah (‫)سبحانه وتعالى‬.

o Everyone leaves Muzdalifah, and goes to perform

the following rituals during the day, there is:
1. Tawaf al ifadha
2. Throwing the stones (jamaraat)
3. Offering the sacrifice
T H E M O S T B E L O V E D D A Y S T O A L L A H

o Sometimes people start with stoning and some

with tawaf. Some people will go to Makkah to
perform the tawaf seven times, reminding us how
much we need to go around the pleasure of Allah
(‫)سبحانه وتعالى‬. And the sa’ee is performed as well

where we remember all that we have done in this

life. We do not go around anyone or struggle for
anyone except Allah (‫)سبحانه وتعالى‬.

o Then Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬commands the people to

ask for forgiveness, and He is The All-Forgiving, The

Most Merciful.
o Seeking forgiveness after a worship is to make us
humble and it reminds us that anything we do for
Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬surely has shortcomings, so we

seek forgiveness for it.

o And we show our gratitude to Allah (‫)سبحانه وتعالى‬

for allowing us to complete any worship. In

T H E M O S T B E L O V E D D A Y S T O A L L A H

general, when we finish any good deed, we should

ask Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬for forgiveness due to our

shortcomings, and be grateful to Allah ( ‫سبحانه‬

‫ )وتعالى‬for allowing us to complete any worship.

o We should never look up at ourselves for doing any

good deed, otherwise it can be nullified.
o So two things that make us humble after any
worship are:
1. Seek forgiveness
2. Gratitude to Allah (‫ )سبحانه وتعالى‬because it is

His favor on us for allowing us perform any

good deed.

MAY ALLAH FORGIVE US AND MAY WE BE FROM THE GRATEFUL

ONES. AMEEN.
