Double Dragon

Chapter 1 - Introduction

In the destroyed and chaotic Los Angeles of 2007, the cops rule the day
and the punk gangs rule the night... And a very ambitious and evil man
wants to dominate the entire city and will spare no expense. He will not
accept any opposition from anyone or anything; the only thing this man
wants is power. And to be able to capture this power, he needs the
other half of the mystical Double Dragon medallion, which combines the
strength of body and soul together, giving him unlimited magical
powers. However, the other half of the medallion is in the hands of
people who are unwilling to cooperate with this man, and who want to
put an end to the chaos that is the city of Los Angeles. These people are
none other than the Lee brothers, an amazing duo who rely on their
martial arts skills in order to defeat the villain Koga Shuko.

Chapter 2 - The Fighters

Abobo

History : Abobo is a very strong man with 218cm and 152kg, and
feared by all, therefore being one of the strongest fighters in all of New
York. Many opponents gave up fighting after seeing Abobo's size and
strength. With his super strength as his main weapon, from a mere
street thug who defeated many enemies, he caught the attention of the
terrible Koga Shuko, who summoned Abobo to be part of his
organization and to act as his right-hand man in his quest for power.
Currently, Abobo has lost ground in the streets because of a fighter
known as Burnov who is also from the organization, and Abobo is just
waiting for a chance to be able to finish him off.

Personality : Abobo is a simple man, with few ambitions, who likes to


prove he is strong and solves everything with brute force. He is very
happy at being Koga Shuko's right-hand man, because hardly anyone
with his intelligence could get such a position.

Burnov

History : Burnov is the only known man in the world who can oppose
the fearsome Abobo, as he is not small at all, being 191 cm, and 225
kg. He is very proud because of his incredible strength and fame, as he
was the "professional" wrestling champion and feared by all as "the
human bomb". However, Burnov completely abandoned the professional
arenas when he received an offer from Koga Shuko, to become a
member of his organization and the possibility of several fights; with
this offer the former champion retired immediately. Burnov is currently
rising rapidly in the organization.

Personality : Burnov is a very proud person, who likes fame and


power. Generally, in everyday life and in the ring, Burnov is a very quiet
and calm person, however when he is excited he turns into a killing
machine. In the ring Burnov is very fearsome, for his attacks and
strength bring terror to his opponents.

Dulton

History : This Italian is a street fighter who travels from city to city
after a good fight. Dulton left the old continent for North America thanks
to the rumors going around the street arenas, and in every country in
Europe there is talk of a terrible fighter who is in the city of Los Angeles.
These rumors have caused Dulton to leave Europe and go after this
terrible fighter. Some people say that Dulton had been wandering from
city to city for a long time looking for a fighter long before the rumors of
the fighter from America reached the old continent. Dulton does not talk
about the subject.

Personality : Dulton is a very cheerful person with a great sense of


humor and is always found with a smile on his face. He is also a very
charismatic and responsible person.

Eddie

History : This Venezuelan Military man was developing a highly


dynamic fighting style uniting the best moves of Special Forces and Kick
Boxing. Until his path crossed with one of Shuko's men, who, when
defeated by Eddie, reported to his master of Eddie's skills. Shuko went
in person to see such a man and convinced Eddie to become part of his
organization. Eddie has not yet fully developed his art, however, his
knowledge in Kick Boxing is incredible. He is responsible for the training
of Shuko's men and has received from Shuko a large training center
with lots of support. Eddie has recently discovered Shuko's true goals,

but he is not in a position to stop him or his organization by himself.
Therefore, Eddie has begun to secretly teach the most talented students
his art and the most powerful maneuvers in order to try to put an end to
Shuko's plans at the appropriate moment.

Personality : Eddie is a very honest and proud fighter, who began to


develop a new art to try to improve the world through it. At first, Shuko
came bringing this proposal to Eddie, but Shuko was deceiving him;
when he realized Shuko's true objectives, Eddie began training the most
honorable students, for he is a true martial fighter.

Rebecca

History : From an early age, Rebecca (Dutch) received extremely tough


and rigorous martial arts training from her father, who was an instructor
of Karate, Judo, and Aikido. Seeing how the world was turning out, he
trained his daughter to be able to defend herself. On one day of training
Rebecca fell in love with one of her father's students; Eric, and began
dating him. However, in time she eventually found out that the man she
fell in love with was one of Shuko's men, who was aiming to make
reports about the dojo to the organization, and try to make the academy
a training center for the organization. Rebecca was shocked, and tried
every way she could to convince Eric to change sides and leave his life
of crime, but Eric ended up falling into the hands of his boss.

Personality : Rebecca is a very cheerful and sensitive person, who


never gives up on her goals. When she fell in love with Eric, a member
of Shuko's organization, she promised herself that she would get her
love out of the organization even if she had to end up with Shuko
himself.

Amon

History : Since his childhood Amon was trained in the legendary secret
art of ninjas, the ninjitsu of the Ryuga ninpo clan. However, after a few
years some members of his family mysteriously disappeared without a
trace. Amon then decided to cross the ocean to seek information about
the disappearance of his family, but what he ended up finding were
many rumors, and all of them pointed to only one person: Shuko.

Personality : Amon is a calm and taciturn person who only has two
loves in his life: his family and his airplane which he uses to fly beyond
the clouds.

Cheng Fu

History : From a young age Cheng Fu was trained in the arts of Kung
Fu in Hong Kong City. Living in a vastly unequal and unfair society, he
began to think of Kung Fu as a beautiful art that could be a useful tool
to try to make a better world and bring joy to all. So he started to
initiate his plans; Cheng Fu became a martial artist with very strange
habits; he lives drinking like a bohemian and looks more like a cheerful
and awkward drunkard than a martial fighter, but fools are those who
don't realize that Cheng Fu is the master of the drunken Kung Fu style,
and his joy comes from his free spirit and the magic of Kung Fu.
Because of his free spirit and thirst for justice he went to San Francisco
to try to take down the dangerous Shuko.

Personality : Cheng Fu is a cheerful and somewhat careless person


who lives exclusively for Kung Fu and justice, using Kung Fu as a tool to
try to make the world a little better. He defeats his enemies with his
drunken style.

Chapter 4 – The Heroes

Billy Lee

History : From a young age Billy Lee was trained in the art of
traditional Karate and the Air elemental style, which he had a great
affinity with, and with this training Billy grew up to be a great fighter
who was honorable and highly determined. A few years after finishing
his training, Billy, along with his older brother Jimmy, developed a new
style, Sousetsuken Karate, which is a combination of Judo, Karate,
Aikido and the elemental style into one highly deadly and dynamic style.
When his former master called the dragon brothers to North America, to
the city of Los Angeles where they grew up, he eventually met Marian
and the terrible organization of Koga Shuko, and decided to put an end
to this terrible criminal organization entirely.

Personality : Billy is a serious and taciturn person who tends to remain


calm and serene most of the time. When he enters combat he almost
enters a state of deep meditation, only focusing on his opponent.

Jimmy Lee

History : Jimmy is the fire dragon and Billy's older brother. Jimmy, like
his brother, started his martial arts training at a very young age, which
made him become a powerful and dangerous fighter. When his brother
became a karate master, Jimmy called him to create a new style, which
would be the union of some fighting styles plus the elemental skills that
they had, and this project ended up working out, and Sousetsuken
Karate was born. As time went by, they opened a dojo where they teach
their style, and when Billy decided to fight against Shuko's organization,
Jimmy went to help his younger brother, because Shuko's powers
cannot be overcome by only one.

Personality : Unlike Billy, who is fast and agile, Jimmy specializes in


heavy and powerful moves, which makes him a tough and powerful
fighter and almost perfect, if it weren't for his anxiety in combat, and his
high confidence that makes him go in head first without thinking about
anything, no matter who or what the opponent is. Sousetsuken and his
strength combined are invincible.

Marian

History : Marian is a poor girl who had a very difficult childhood in a


poverty stricken neighborhood in the U.S.A. This difficult life caused
Marian to get a strong personality, and this personality eventually
caused Marian to become the leader of a street gang. When the Dragon
Brothers opened their dojo, Marian eventually enrolled there and
perfected her acrobatic techniques. In time she fell in love with Billy and
convinced him to help her take down the villain Shuko's terrible
organization.

Personality : Marian is a strong-minded woman with a great sense of


leadership, which eventually gave her the status of leader of a street
group that tends to protect the weakest from the drugs and violence of
the streets of Los Angeles. At times Marian, even with her tough style,
presents her kind and feminine side, even more so when she is close to
Billy, with whom she is currently attracted. But the fight against Shuko's
organization is so fierce that a romance between the two has yet to
happen.

Chapter 5 – The Villains

Duque

History : Duke is a Kung Fu master who was trained in the most feared
Kung Fu school in China, the school of the shadow assassins. Duke had
never lost a fight, but when he fought Shuko he was defeated, so Shuko
called him to become his personal bodyguard so he could use his
techniques against powerful opponents.

Personality : You are highly mysterious and deadly, in combat you


always look calm and don't seem to change your gaze even in critical
situations. Acting as the bodyguard of the powerful Shuko, you take out
anyone who is foolish enough to oppose your master.

Koga Shuko

History : Koga Shuko since his adolescence always wanted to be a


powerful man, and eventually decided to follow the path of crime to
achieve his goals. Thus, he eventually gained the status of the great
dictator of criminals. Shuko is the most powerful among the big crime
bosses, and the most feared; most street gangs are under his control,
as well as the police and most public agencies. Besides his financial
powers and his organization, Shuko is a great martial arts master with
incredible skills. And if he gets the Dragon medallions he will then be
invincible. (In the Movie Double Dragan, Shuko is played by the actor
Robert Patrick).

Personality : Shuko is a somewhat diabolical person, who uses


everything and everyone to try to achieve his goals. If he cannot beat
someone, he tries to bring the person to his side, either through a deal
or blackmail.

Chapter 6 – Karate Sousetsuken and the Dragon Medallions

Karate Sousetsuken

History : Sousetsuken Karate has a very recent history, since it is not


even a decade old. It was created from Shotokan Karate, with some
movements from Judo and Aikido, making the style very powerful and
dynamic.

Schools : Currently there is only one Sousetsuken Karate school in the


world since it is a totally new and very recent style, with few students.
Brothers Billy and Jimmy do not teach their style to just anyone, and
they do very strict tests to see if the student is worthy to become a
student of their dojo.

Dojo : The Double Dragon dojo is run by brothers Jimmy and Billy, who
teach many styles, within their limitations.

Dragon Medallions

Name Power description


1- Red Dragon This medallion gives +1 to Damage to Special
Maneuvers and +5 to Chi. (It decreases the
chi and Willpower cost of the fighter's
elemental Maneuvers; if the fighter already
has the Maneuvers, they will have no chi cost
outside of combat).
2- Blue Dragon This medallion gives +1 on Damage to Special
Maneuvers and +5 on Willpower. (It gives the
wearer the Ghost Form Maneuver; if the
fighter already has it they can use it out of
combat at no cost in chi).
3- Double Dragon It gives the power of the Two medallions
combined.

Chapter 7 - Using this eBook (Netbook).

To use this eBook the player will need to have the core Street Fighter
RPG rulebook. Ideally the player should see the movie to have an idea
of how the world of Double Dragon is, which is very different from the
one presented in the NES and Super NES game.

In case the player wants to make the union of the NES and SNES game
with the movie, it would be ideal if the master would do the following:

1- When the street gang kidnaps Jimmy's girlfriend in Double Dragon 1,


it was with the objective of trying to bring the two brothers into the
Shuko organization. The two brothers are still unaware of the existence
of the villain Shuko. "All of Double Dragon's adventures have Shuko as a
principal, whose goal is either to bring the brothers into the organization
or to finish them off."

2- Most street gangs are under the control of the villain Shuko.

3- If the Storyteller wants to merge Double Dragon with the world of


Street Fighter II, just consider that Shuko is one of Bison's many
subordinates.
