Paz Latorena

-WAS BORN ON JANUARY 17, 1908IN BOAC,


MARINDUQUE. SHE WAS THE OLDEST AMONG THE 10
CHILDREN OF MAGDA MANGUERA AND RICARDO
LATORENA.
HER WORKS:
THE SMALL KEY, A CHRISTMAS TALE, THE LITERARY
APPRENTICE, SUNSET, MYRRH, YEARS AND DAYS, AND
DESIRE.

MARINDUQUE
Ricardo Vidal

-He was born on Feb. 06, 1931, in Mogpog, Marinduque. He is an


archbishop emeritus of Cebu (Philippines). He studied at the Minor
Seminary of the most Holy Rosary and the Seminary of San Carlo. He was
ordained on March 17, 1956. The bishop of Lucena entrusted him as
Spiritual director of the local Seminary of Mount Carmel. He was named
on April 13, 1982, as the coadjutor with the right of succession to the
archbishop of Cebu.
HIS WORKS:
-The people of God’s sense of faith on the alliance of the two hearts:
Supplementary documents of the 1997 international theological pastoral
symposium on the alliance of the hearts of Jesus and Mary, Revelations of a

PALAWAN

Kanakan Balintagos
-Aureus Solito, also known as Kanakan-Balintagos, is a
Palawan-Filipino author and film maker and an indigenous
people rights advocate who comes from a lineage of shaman-
Kings from the Palawan Tribe.

HIS WORKS:
-Ang pagdadalaga ni MAximo Oliveros, Tuli, Busung, Esprit
de Corps, and Mga Buhay na apoy.

ROMBLON
Jose Dalisay Jr.
-Was born Romblon in 1954. He completed his primary
education at La Salle Greenhill's, Philippines in 1966 and his
secondary education at the Philippine science high school in
1970.
HIS WORKS:
-Killing time in a warm place (1993), Soledad’s sister (2002),
Pag sabog ng liwanag (1996), Ang butihing babae ng timog,
Tayong Dalawa, Saranggola, and La Soeur De Soledad.

ROMBLON

Gabriel Fabella
-Born in the Island municipality of Banton, Romblon on March
18, 1988, to Maximo Fabella, a coconut and Tabacco merchant,
and Rafaela Fabrero, a housewife.

HIS WORKS:
-Iwag it kaandua, and bag-ong iwag.

MINDORO
Herminio Beltran Jr.
-Is a division chief of the CPH Literary Arts Division. The
author of two Trilingual books of poetry, the BANAMBANG
(1991) and the LEMLUNAY (2003). He is a short novelist and
story maker. His works often revolve around the experience of
the Mangyan people.

Salvador Lopez
-Was born on May 27, 1911, in Curimao. He was a Filipino
writer, journalist, educator, diplomat, and statesman.

HIS WORKS:
-The judgement of history: Isles of gold: A history of mining in
the Philippines, and Elpidio Quirino.

MINDORO

Jose F. Lacaba
-He was born on November 25, 1945, in Cagayan de Oro.
He was known as Pete Lacaba. He is a Filipino
screenwriter, journalist, editor, poet, activist, and translator

HIS WORKS:
Mind-Jaguar (1979), Pakawalan Mo Ako (1981), This is my
Country (1985), Bagong Bayani (1995), and Segurista
(1996)

MINDORO

Ginaw Bilog
-Was born on January 03, 1953, in Mansalay. He was a Filipino
poet who was recognized as a National Living treasure by the
Philippine Government.

HIS WORKS:
-Ang Pag-ibig sa Kalikasan

MINDORO

Amado V. Hernandez
-Was born on September 13, 1903, at Hagonoy. He was a
Filipino writer and labor leader who known for his criticism of
social injustices in the Philippines and was later imprisoned for
his involvement in the communist movement.
HIS WORKS:
1. Novels – Mga ibong mandaragit (1969), Luha ng Buwaya
(1972)
2. Poems – Ang mga kayamanan ng tao

Alfonso P. Santos
-Was born on October 12, 1938. He is a writer who has
contributed lots of works in the Philippines Literature.
HIS WORKS:
-Romance in Philippines names, The new society, and
Philippine-Nippon Tales.

Eliseo J. Obligacion
-Was born on June 24, 1952. Also known as Eli Obligacion. He
dreamed of becoming a famous artist and showcased his voice
in classroom and in school programs.

HIS WORKS:
-Labanan sa pulang lupa

Saturnino D. Rogelio
-Known by many people living in Santa Cruz, Marinduque.
He is a native of Santa Cruz and his house was in Brgy.
Banahaw, Santa Cruz, Marinduque.

ROMBLON
Nestor Vicente Madali Gonzales
-Was born on September 08, 1915, in Romblon. Was a Filipino
novelist, short story maker, essayist, and a poet. Conferred as
the National artist in the Philippine for literature in 1997.
HIS WORKS:
1. Novels/Poetry
-The winds of April (1941), A season of Grace (1956)
2. Short fiction
-The tomato game (1992), Look, stranger on the island now,
Manila: Benipayo (1963)
3. Essays
-A novel of Justice (1968-1994)

PALAWAN

Susan S. Lara
-Was born on July 24, 1956. She was a based writer and a
journalist. She is also known for her novels and contributions to
the Philippine literature.

HER WORKS:
-The year we became invincible, Lost and found: three quarter
time, and letting go of Eden.

PALAWAN

Luis H. Francia
-He was born in the Philippines and earned his BA from Ateneo
de Manila University. He is a Filipino American poet,
playwright, journalist, and a non-fiction writer.

HIS WORKS:
-Eye of the fish: A personal archipelago (2001)

PALAWAN

Susan Evangelista
-She is the founder of roots of health and previously served as
the organization’s Director of youth. She Taught English and
Interdisciplinary studies in the Ateneo for thirty years, then
retired to Palawan and taught in Palawan state University for
twelve more years.

Lynette Dela Cruz


-She graduated from Palawan State University where she was a
staff/writer of the University's publication.

Hipolito Mallen Berano


-He is the founding coordinator of the sovio-civic organization
called KUATROHANON in Romblon. He used to be a teacher
at Romblon national High school.
