You are required to submit the following:

1. Business report

2. 5 - minute Presentation

3. 10 - minute YouTube video recording

policy you will be capped at a Pass for late submission.
You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs, and subsections as
appropriate, and all work must be supported with research and referenced using the
Harvard referencing system (or an alternative system). You will need to provide a
bibliography using the Harvard referencing system (or an alternative system).
Inaccurate use of referencing may lead to issues of plagiarism if not applied
correctly.
Word count is 2500–3000 words, although you will not be penalised for going under
or exceeding the total word limit.
You are advised to pay attention to command words and key phrases in producing
your evidence. Please refer to the document provided on the glossary of key terms
that define evidence requirements as this would be helpful. The document can be
accessed on CANVAS.

Vocational scenario

You have just joined the Innovation and Commercialisation team at Financial Times
UK. Your job is to consult as a trainee on innovation and commercialisation in the
UK. Your direct line manager has assigned you three tasks that you need to action
immediately. She has given you the brief with instructions.
Assignment activity and guidance
These are the tasks that have been assigned by your line manager. Your work
should be well presented - professional, analytical, evaluative, and critical.
Task 1
You are to write an investigative report, no more than 2000 words of your findings
and a critical analysis of how innovation can be successfully developed and
embedded into British Organisations.

Task 2
Prepare a 5 - minute presentation for a face-to-face session with your peers. You
must be dressed professionally. Your video should not be more than five minutes
long. You should only use the notes section in PowerPoint to develop your script
(word document, etc is not allowed).

Task 3
Prepare a 10 - minute self-video recording in MP4 format, whereby you can show
your creative skills, social media savvy; and you are encouraged to think outside
the box. The best videos will be uploaded unto YouTube.

Investigative Report

✓ This is a video recently released by the Financial Times.


You need to watch this video and investigate how
innovation is sourced and supported within different
types of organisations. Using domestic examples,
discuss different ways in which British organisations are
fostering innovation.
✓ With the Pandemic, many companies are closing their
doors; you are required to analyse the ways in which
innovation can be sourced and supported within different
organisation environments and cultures, that may give
them a chance at sustainable growth.

Task 2 - LO2 Business presentation.

✓ You are required to give a presentation in person to the


senior management team. For the presentation you will
be expected to dress professionally and use professional
and creative slides.
✓ Your presentation will focus on ways British
organisations can explore the processing of different
types of innovation within different organisations using
examples.
✓ You should be able to differentiate between different
types of innovation and how they are embedded within
organisations.

Task 3 - YouTube Video
LO3 & LO4
✓ You will use YouTube platform to create an informative
session on innovation and Commercialisation. In your
video, you will inform your audience of how they can
apply the process required to commercialise innovation
within their organisation. Then you will evaluate the
range of methods for protecting innovation within
organisations.
✓ In the final part of your video, you will produce a
commercially driven business case for innovation,
including an action plan for development and methods
for its successful protection in the context of the wider
business environment.
