Before becoming an idol, Jaehyun spent his childhood in Connecticut, United States, from the age of 5 to
10 years. Since then, he has gone by other names namely Jay and Jeffrey to make it easier to
pronounce.
Jaehyun's career as an idol began in 2012, when he was discovered by an SM Entertainment talent
scout. After going through coaching for several months, Jaehyun officially joined the SM ROOKIES
trainee on December 9, 2013.
During the process of becoming a trainee, Jaehyun attracted quite a bit of attention. Constantly
practicing every day, making Jaehyun's talent even more reckoned with. Not only pursuing the world of
singing, Jaehyun is also involved in a tv shows program called EXO 90:2014 as an SM Rookies Member.
He also served as an MC in the Show Champion event in 2015.
After three years as a trainee, Jaehyun made his debut with NCT-U through a single titled "The 7th
Sense" on April 9, 2016. Then on July 10, 2016, Jaehyun officially debuted with NCT 127 through a mini
album titled NCT #127.
During his career with NCT, Jaehyun was known to be one of the most talented idols. Supported by his
beautiful face, he also made many people captivated when he saw him. In 2019, Jaehyun decided to
carry out various solo activities, such as being an MC as well as an acting debut.
During his career, Jaehyun was quite successful in creating various works, both through songs and
dramas.
