Park Jimin was born in Geumsa-dong, Geumjeong District, Busan, South Korea on
October 13, 1995. He is the first child of two brothers. During middle school, Jimin was a
smart student and was always the class president. During high school, Jimin attended Busan
Arts High School, majoring in modern dance and contemporary ballet. Jimin became the
"best student" because of his dancing talent and good grades. Jimin's teacher suggested he
audition for K-pop, he complied, until he was accepted into Big Hit Entertainment.

Jimin moved from Busan to Seoul and attended Korean Arts High School. There he
met Kim Tae-hyung alias V, who later became a groupmate in BTS. Jimin underwent a
training period at Big Hit Entertainment for less than 1 year, before debuting with BTS on
June 13, 2013. Jimin was the last member to enter BTS. Currently Jimin is studying at Global
Cyber University in the city of Cheonan, South Korea; namely an online-based public
university.

On June 13, 2013, Jimin debuted as a member of BTS by releasing the single "No
More Dream". In the group, Jimin holds the position of vocalist and dancer. Under BTS, he
has released two solo songs: "Lie" and "Serendipity". The song "Lie" was released in 2016 on
the album Wings and "Serendipity" from the album Love Yourself: Her in 2017. In 2016,
Jimin was ranked as the 14th most popular idol in an annual survey conducted by Gallup
Korea. He was ranked 7th in 2017, and ranked 1st in a row in 2018 and 2019.

As of 2018, Jimin is the 9th most tweeted about celebrity in the world and the 8th
most tweeted about musician in the world. He was voted the 17th best boyband member in
history by The Guardian. From January to May 2018, Jimin won the monthly Peeper x
Billboard Award for "Top K-Pop Artist - Individual". During January to December 2019
Jimin was ranked 1st in brand reputation from The Korea Brand Reputation Research
Institute.

Together with other BTS members, he won a number of awards and appeared at
several award ceremonies in Korea, namely the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Melon
Music Awards (MMA), Asian Artist Awards (AAA), Golden Disc Awards (GDA), Seoul
Music Awards (SMA), Soribada Awards; as well as in America, namely the American Music
Awards (AMAs) and the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). On February 27, 2019, Jimin
received an award from the Kim Baek Bong Cultural Conservation Society for the traditional
Korean fan dance at the 2018 Melon Music Awards.
