THE SPECIFICATION

The specification is a very important aspect of the design process. The specification is often written at the end of research
work and before design ideas are drawn up. It is now time to be specific about possible materials, overall size, colour, shape,
functions, features, and more.....

EXAMPLE LAYOUT TO SPECIFICATION PAGE

The specification shown below has a number of headings/subtitles. Usually, a sentence or two are written under each of the
headings. The specification should be agreed with the client/customer, as it is him/her who has commissioned the design and
manufacture of the product.

product was manufactured, with photographs. The photographs would be taken at various stages, when you manufacture
your product. Each stage shows the tools, equipment, machinery and techniques employed during manufacture.
